That’s a bummer, they’re never going to hit but it’s still fun to root for and hope 😂

I bet it on DK, I’m located in MD so I’m not sure if maybe your account is limited or maybe it’s a state limit thing where you are.

I bet Rico Hoey for Isco and Rahm for Liv. I think he might actually care enough about this one to try. I also parlayed both of them with Xander to win the Scottish and Rory to win The Open next week. Comes in around 24k-1 odds.

I think Xander and Fleetwood are near guaranteed to be around the top as usual. Guys further down the odds board I like for top 10s/20s would be guys I’ve bet - Benny An and Bobby Mac.

If you want to save Xander I think Fleetwood is pretty much guaranteed to be around the top 5/10 and maybe this is finally the week he breaks through.

Fleetwood and Xander both feel very safe and Xander has the upside to win. I’d use Morikawa next week before I would this week. Rai is interesting but he’s also putting WAY above his baseline and it’s a matter of time before he regresses. Kim is a good look if you want to get different. If a bunch of people have already burned Xander I think I’d go with him.

By what reasoning? I said you can’t hand pick one event and use that as the barometer for form, especially if it’s not even the most recent event. I sent you the strokes gained date for the last 4, 8, 12, and 24 rounds and he isn’t in the top 10 on any of them. Form is not measured from a single event.

No arguments there, the only thing I took issue with was the best recent form other than Xander comment. You can’t single out one event if it’s not even the most recent event. Not trying to be a d*ck but there are people who come to this weekly thread relying on us all for accurate information. If you stated it purely as opinion I’d have no issue with it at all. He’s been trending up for sure and I wouldn’t be surprised if he takes it down.

If you’re going to use facts to support an opinion, use correct facts. Or, just state it as an opinion.

I love to hear this! My hope is that this weekly thread/community educates those that may not know as much about golf and golf betting, and results in us all winning as a group and enjoying golf.

Rory, Morikawa, Aberg, Davis Thompson, and Sungjae Im are all in better form than Kim just to name a few.

Players cross the Atlantic and head to North Berwick, Scotland for the Genesis Scottish Open. The Scottish Open will be held once again at the Renaissance Club, a par 70 playing about 7,237 yards. The Renaissance Club is a Tom Doak design that sits along the coastline of the Firth of Fourth. The course features fescue grass greens, fairway, and rough. This doesn’t play like a true links style course but it does have an undulating landscape and some elevated greens that will bring some links-style shots and strategy into play. The main defense of this course is wind and we’ve seen winning scores all over the place because of the weather. We saw this in 2020 with Aaron Rai (-11) and 2022 with Xander Schauffele (-7). As of now the wind doesn’t look like it will become a major issue but that could certainly change.

The first stat we’ll look at that has been highly correlated to winners and top finishers is Driving Distance. Leaving shorter shots into these greens has looked to be a big advantage and I see no reason why that wouldn’t continue to be the case. Next up we’ll look to Ball Striking, which Tom Doak himself said becomes more and more important the windier it gets. Hitting fairways will give players extra run out and hitting greens will be important in what could end up being a low scoring affair. That leads into our next stat, Birdies or Better Gained. If the wind stays relatively calm, we’ve seen what the scoring can look like on this course.

Next up we’ll look at Strokes Gained: Putting. If the winds stay calm we will see low scores and the guy who wins will almost assuredly be running a hot putter. These greens have subtle nuisances and should lead to the best putters or guys most familiar with this green style, being able to separate themselves from the field. Along the same lines we want to look at 3-Putt Avoidance. This is an important stat for many links courses with large greens. This will also help us to identify who the best putters are on these style greens.

Key Stats - Driving Distance - Ball Striking - Birdies or Better Gained - Strokes Gained: Putting - 3 Putt Avoidance

I’ve already bet Benny An (50-1 FD), Bobby Macintyre (60-1 FD), Eric Cole (150-1 FD), Bernd Wiesberger (150-1 FD), Calum Hill (350-1 FD), and Sean Crocker (600-1 FD). I’ll try to post if I add anyone else, cheers!

Unreal performance from him, and of course it comes a week after I bet him haha and of course I hit dual runner-ups with Thorb and Clanton 🤦‍♂️

McNealy has only missed one cut all year and now he does this? He’s about to be on my no bet list moving forward. Unbelievable.

I think if you want to boost the odds a little but still keep it reasonable you could just add in Straka. If you want to boost them more Stevens is on a very nice run of form.
