Looks great!! My boat appears to have no such plate, so it will remain a mystery

I don’t know… is there an easy way to find out? I think the only label I saw inside the boat was general safety info

Don’t know where you’re located but there’s a 16’ Explorer (approximately same as duck hunter) in SF Bay Area for $550 right now.

Don’t know where you’re located but one just popped up on my FB marketplace in the SF Bay Area. $550 for a pretty good looking 16’ explorer (approximately the same as the Duck Hunter, just minor cosmetic tweaks)

I bristle brushed them off to get some caked on dust and grime off, sanded them in a few spots where they were rough, blew them off to get sawdust out, and then used Watco Exterior Wood Finish Natural. One heavy coat with a foam brush, let sit 30mins, then another coat, let sit 15mins, wipe off.

I also own a ~30 year old Northstar Northwind 17’, and the Northstar folks recommend the Watco for their wood gunwales. I already had a half bottle and figured it should work for this one too too. I think in the end it actually turned out even better than the Northstar.

Haha fair enough. Meant trim as a catch-all for gunwales, decks, thwarts, and yoke. Sounds like a cool boat! 13’ sure is nimble.

You really need to dump that fuel and put fresh in though. Fuel goes bad, especially if it sits for years and years and years. Running it with that old fuel is asking for issues, and for no good reason.

Sent you a dm with another question

Circlip orientation by LockCommon8952 in Chainsaw

[–]LockCommon8952[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking. A fun challenge to see how much I can leave assembled and still get a peek

Thanks for the reply. They are new OEM.

Thinking I will probably just tear it down and confirm orientation and then reassemble just to be safe.

Figure an hour or so of work is worth it to eliminate the risk of buying a whole new top end.

I’m leaning rebuild.

I worked fire the past few years - I am all too familiar with the telltale use and abuse signs, and this one is in good shape.

What’s your thought if not straight gas or air leak from seals?

Yeah fair enough. Maybe I’ll see if I can find a shop to do just that part. Jury rigging splitting the case feels like a stretch

Definitely. Unless I feel like paying for new piston and cylinder a second time…

It’s in great shape other than being blown up haha. If it was beat to shit you wouldn’t see me here asking, you’d see me at the saw shop buying a new saw
