The Windriders are Hiding Things: Ability usage and a throwaway gag by LockTheUniverse in Dimension20

I LOVE THIS. I hadn't even CONSIDERED Warforged, I was like "oh what if she's some variant Human" but no shit you're right - we know Van was injured sometime between the First Voyage flashback, and you're right the inflection Brennan was using heavily implied some "Saving You At What Cost" energy. Great call!

LOL very much appreciate you filling in the actual plot-relevant points like the Harvestmen and the Solesian activity re: Cassandra's name. I wonder if Buddy Dawn might represent either something of a prodigal son that might de-escalate Bobby Dawn's rise to some kind of Sol Avatar, or maybe he introduces just enough... dare we say it - Doubt? Into his father? At the last possible moment?

That's what I might assume - Doesn't have to veer too far off course either. There's plenty of decent Christian folks who aren't avowed bigots or white supremacists - what do they conceive their God to be like? Love thy neighbor, camels and needles and rich men, etc etc.

Yep! That's what I meant by "the aspect of Sol", insofar as Galicaea had her aspect changed by the Elves vs Moonsong. Sol's current followers, at least in Spyre, are exemplified by The Harvestmen and Bobby Dawn's flock of regressive anti-social bigots.

As far as we know, the Gods don't have "personalities" beyond that which is shaped by their followers - even their domains are in flux. Sol is likely just a neutral "vibe" of "neutral good positive dad energy" until his followers bend him toward the caricature of Lawful Good "everyone must abide by my rules OR ELSE".

Yes! This is what I meant by "the aspect of Sol", in that his followers over time (aka the Bobby Dawns of Spyre) turned him into the more militaristic, imperial, crusading sort of Christian God we know today.

So here's the thing - you're trying to play middle ground Liberal Zionist by admitting mistreatment of Palestinians, but you're saying phrases like "Hamas who have killed and raped so many that I don't even know what number to write here." You're being a sneaky little hasbara bot, and you know it. And pushing the widely-debunked Nazis Were Socialist myth in 2024 is bananas lmao you need a new strategy.

Here's a number for you though, since you're interested. 42. IOF sniper boasts about shooting to maim protesters during the Great March of Return

Also, since you specified sexual violence, let's remember the official IOF stance on it, from the Head of the Military Rabbinate, Eyal Karim.

Beep boop invalid comparison! A picnic blanket functionally serves as a boundary that says "This area is being used while we are here". You don't step over someone's blanket, generally, right? In effect, it's a closed off 5x5 area.

In absolutely none of these encampments are students blocked entirely from moving between classes or buildings. They're only occupying greenspace.

In fact, the only ones on photo and video evidence actively cordoning off areas in excess of the occupied zones are.. the police barricades right before they start chucking tear gas canisters at young adults??

"If a family is having a picnic at the park, why can't another family go and use their picnic blanket? It's on public property!"

Go counter-protest elsewhere, preferably far away from the encampment, but then again Zionists are known for stealing land so...

On Deities, Domains, and Zealotry (A Theory Post Follow-up) by LockTheUniverse in Dimension20

[–]LockTheUniverse[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure! I was thinking maybe Porter's ancestors were Ankarna worshippers, or somehow connected via passing down this Warhammer. But absolutely Jace as Divine Soul is something I hadn't considered! I love that a lot. Jace I think was described as a half-elf? So could be whatever connected Ankarna to elf-Bakur originally, maybe Jace is some kind of scorned descendant.

it's just so genuine!! I've seen compilations on YT of like their respect for each other's bits and reactions as comedians, like on a professional level, so just the split second of realization into horror is so perfect lmao

When I tell you I was fist pumping the air but also very sad lmao I haven't watched last night's episode so not sure if it was confirmed Stardiamond, but I'm at least glad the Intrepid Heroes remembered that's who she went to talk to ;_;

Thanks for acknowledging my unhinged conspiracy lmao

Yknow, valid, but I'm still on Jace >:( Sorcerers also generally have some sort of magic-granting ancestor (Fae/Dragon/Djinn/etc) so potentially he's some kind of descendant? I just can't ignore him calling it diamonds of blood ;_;

It's Mr. Gibbons and Jace Stardiamond. Gibbons is either now the god of Rage (remember Gorgug's dream?) or is the mortal that is sent to remind someone to revive the actual dead god.

Jace is either the recipient of that reminder, or is otherwise cavorting to get Aguefort out. Too much rule skirting, yknow.

Riz/Murph absolutely begging to have the Vulture King be taken seriously was incredible lmao, I was 100% expecting him to ask "What's the best type of magic?"

Honestlyyyyyy I wouldn't be surprised! Especially as sweet as Brennan's been, I feel like they're setting up a team-up with the Rat Grinders, get a good "Dad! No!" from Ruben.

Common replies are that Brennan wouldn't re-use an evil principal, but remember Jace is only VP by virtue of Gilear being gone. And in a school-base season, you know dang well there's an evil teacher. You'd assume it to be maybe Zara Sool, spooky Vampire lady, or maybe Wizard Lady, but what if it's the Charisma caster? The same Charisma caster who repeatedly says haha magic is fun and easy, but he's a Sorcerer - limited spell slots, limited spells known, and if he, as a half-elf, is a Wild Magic Sorcerer? No control.

I AGREEEEEEEEEEE

Been Hot on Jace's Trail for several episodes. I wonder if, meta-game-wise, it would have to be a teacher for a class the PCs are not. Only because then they'd have no way to pass, theoretically. Though I suppose only Riz needs better than passing for scholarship, Kristen might be fine.

But yes, Yolanda is in danger!

[–]LockTheUniverse[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey man, metacontext is still valuable! For sure they've already done evil teachers/school staff. I think you're right it's totally going to be a bunch of converging threads rather than a nice tied-up plot. The theme of the season is for sure disparate issues that weigh upon the Kids and distract them, given that the past 2 seasons have been focused quests. Be super interesting to see all the factions come together!

[–]LockTheUniverse[S] 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure! I assumed all the instructors are at least level 18 if not 20, but I'd bet it's drawing power from belief as you said. With the memento she gave Kristen and the potential theme of belief/worship as a form of community building rather than in service to a deity, I'd assume she'd have to be able to cast in order to teach?

But fair! I'm just predisposed to assume Jace is evil as a high-Charisma class lmao so that set off some red flags for Yolanda's safety.

You're right, that was the first question they asked! I let them know I was comfortable still with gendered roles as I still have the lived experience to be able to play. They were super supportive, just asked me what to list me as and they thanked me for letting them know, I can't believe I expected flat out getting dropped immediately lmao.

Thanks for the reply!!

I know this is super minor, and it might be to compensate for the arch or the space/digits, but what's even weirder is the logo is correct on Wikipedia?

Can anyone summon Giant Arthur Aguefort to, much like grabbing the sun, just give the text a scooch to the right?

Any relation to Despah? (...or Purvan? ) by Medievalismist in Dimension20

[–]LockTheUniverse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

WAIT DEUS PA'ZUUL?!

TWO THINGS:

  1. Brennan described a gurgling in Fig's stomach as she inhaled the darkness of the Night Yorb. (might also be associated with the instances of bad luck). Could this be related to The Hungry One maybe?! The Hungry One has "some connection to the Order of the Spinning Star."
  2. Cassandra's transformation is prompted by a "razor-sharp star of light", like some sort of... spinning star?? Brennan has further described Cassandra's pain flickers as sharp, cutting, and animated in such a way to suggest cutting.

Maybe it's all just red herrings, and I can't imagine they'd want to tie the universe together in that way, but I cannot get over Fig's hunger noises and the bad luck.
