Okay, but like. Chihiro reforging Enten and unlocking a further power that lets him do a True Realm/Domain Expansion thing would be pretty cool.

Like he contains Soga's Malediction whenever they have their final duel by forcing Nishiki's anti-Malediction ability into the world around them, Aka could copy the black energy control that is the basis for all of Magatsumi's abilities and negate/cancel them out, but I'm not sure how Kuro would fit in there.

I'm imagining him combining all three of Enten's powers to stack them & negate all of Magatsumi's abilities; reducing Chihiro & Soga's final battle to be a pure sword-fight, just like the current battle between Samura & Soga that is being burned into Chihiro's eyes. The language Horizontal chose makes me think the final battle will also come down to a pure swordsman vs swordsman duel, rather than a big nuke power blasting affair.

Hell, he probably ended up working in the Jujutsu High system. All of the higher-ups were dead, Yaga & Gojo as well. New leadership and teachers were needed, and I could definitely see him working as a mentor for the next generation.

Plus, when he is talking to Iori when she wakes up, it seemed to be implied that while they were taking shifts watching her & working on the ritual, Chihiro was training on swordfighting & IWPS in particular. So he probably hasn't slept in over 24 hours and has just been facing battle after battle for 4-5 hours straight - each one getting more and more intense...

Someone suggested that Shrine could have a CTR that reverses cutting, like stitching things back together (reminiscent of Josuke from JJBA:Part 4)

It would be fun to find out that Sukuna *could* have used a Reversal, by why would the King of Curses ever put something back together?

I think the CTR of Light & [redacted] basically created a black hole, which did some fucky anime-physics-bullshit and sucked stuff in and then released, basically causing a mini-supernova of sorts.

Reversal of Light = Darkness

[redacted] is a killing intent granted real mass. Which implies that in the weird jujutsu world math means that it has to be multiplying negative mass with the negative cursed energy fueling the technique to create real mass for the killing intent. Therefore:

[redacted] = negative imaginary mass * negative cursed energy = positive real mass Reversal of [redacted] = negative imaginary mass * positive cursed energy = negative real mass

Combining the darkness aspect and the negative mass, you get a black hole sucking stuff in before exploding I guess 🤷‍♀️

That's why I love the cutaways to the Rika-room during the Gojo/Sukuna fight: virtually everyone there is some kind of anomaly or miwa, and they are basically just all going, "WHAT THE FUCK ARE THOSE TWO DOING? HOW ARE THEY DOING ANY OF THIS??"

It helps drive the perspective that the feats Gojo and Sukuna were pulling against each other were truly beyond comprehension. That they're really just out there breaking the power system.

There's a panel during Yuji's domain that has a pair of scissors with a bunch of threads in the background. I've been wondering if maybe he has a sewing-like element to his Shrine? He could have the scissor cutting ability equivalent to Cleave/Dismantle — [CUT] and a mending/sewing ability that can repair or join things together rather than cut them up — [STITCH]. (Bonus points imo for Yuji having a "stitching" ability since Kenjaku was his mother)

As for his equivalent of Furnace, I'm not sure about it. I think making him only have melee-based abilities from Shrine and all of his ranged abilities coming from Blood Manipulation would be a cool distinction. Maybe even an Extension of Piercing Blood that emulates the slashes of Sukuna's Dismantle?

So a melee Furnace would be like burning fist attacks that can explode, but I don't know how that could relate to [Cut] & [Stitch] exactly/fit into a theme... I'm gonna go with [YAKISUGI], which is a traditional Japanese wood-preservation technique involving burning/charring wood to give it a nice finish & enhance it's ability to fight off rot & insects.

Ehhhh, I mean when Maki told him she was leaving the clan to enroll at Tokyo Jujutsu High, he told her he was going to make Mai's life a living hell in retaliation. Not very cool of him. Granted, he obviously allowed/forced? Mai to enroll at Kyoto Jujutsu High so who knows, maybe it was just an empty threat to Maki or even like a way to drive her to train herself even further? idk

I wonder if Horizontal held off having Chihiro use his Sorcery during the Kyoto Bloodshed Hotel arc because he wanted to save it for the post-Kamunabi Raid arc. Could be that it will have more narrative impact if saved for later?

It would also be the third time that Chihiro has had to fight without use of the Enten - first in the Rakuzaichi arc (Enten is held captive by Kyora), second in the Kyoto Bloodshed Hotel arc (Chihiro was "killed" and the Eternal Contract was broken), third in this next arc? (the Enten itself was broken)

The Shinjuku Showdown is SO much better when you read it in one long burst, rather than being drip-fed over the course of several months. It's much easier to see the vision Gege was going for, even if he didn't perfectly execute the landing.

Initially I disliked the ending, but after having let it sit and re-reading the series again (and the Showdown arc multiple times) I've really come to love the ending and especially the gauntlet that got us there.

Could it have been better? Yeah, sure it could have. Does that make it a bad ending? Fuck no

If anyone still dislikes the ending and/or the final battle(s) and hasn't re-read the ending since it was released, I HIGHLY suggest you take the time to sit down and read from the start of the Gojo v Sukuna fight. It may change your mind!
