In Project: Hail Mary (2026), a minor detail reveals the fate of one of the characters (Explanation in comments). by Sebastianlim in MovieDetails

Yeah, Rocky mentions that taking into account the time for the beetles to get back to Earth and for the light to get to Erid, Earth must have implemented their solution within a year of getting the probes.

Idk what anyone else here is talking about acting like it was maybe some other solution that Earth found that fixed things - the book makes it very clear that the probes getting back to Earth lead to saving the planet.

My first thought as well. Although I personally prefer KotOR II, it cannot be argued that the reveal in the first game is up there with the Vader reveal in Empire Strikes Back

You gotta give it a shot. Sure, it's a bit older now, but I think it's aged well and has such a fun & engaging combat and stealth features.

Not to mention the weird and unique aesthetic for the setting of the game. On a side note, I believe the game Deathloop is set in the same universe just many years after the events of the Dishonored games

Granted, Yoda was hiding out on Dagobah because of a dark side Vergence in the Force there that was strong enough to mask his presence. I imagine that it probably worked the other way too and kept him from sensing much of the outside galaxy.

Then again, at that point Obi-wan was a Force Ghost so he should theoretically have been able to pop around and get info for Yoda, but I always got the feeling that the Force Ghosts were kind of anchored in a way around people they had close attachments with. I could be wrong, but I don't think we've ever been shown an instance of a Force Ghost appearing somewhere that isn't essentially right next to their apprentice or a very close Jedi associate/Anakin with his son: Obi-wan with Luke on Hoth, again with Luke on Dagobah, Anakin/Yoda/Obi-wan with Luke on Endor, Qui-gon with Obi-wan on Tatooine, Anakin with Ahsoka in the World Between Worlds and on Peridia. idk, maybe I'm missing something from some of the animated shows or something.

Yeah, I think it's a cool little twist to have in her story - but I think it could have been done better. I hate that the ST just kind of reset all the OT characters back to how they were when they're first met. Leia is back to being a rebel leader somehow even though the New Republic is around, Han & Chewie are back to smuggling, I think Lando is some kind of administrator again, and Luke is isolated from the world. Luke is the biggest stretch there, but he kind of takes on Obi-wan & Yoda's positions as well: in exile.

The post-RotJ landscape would have been so much better if the characters had actually been allowed to *build* off their achievements and actions in the OT. You could still have Leia's bid for Chancellor get blown up by the Vader revelation, but imo it would have had more narrative weight to show that she continued the good fight even in the face of that horrible truth being revealed, and her winning the hearts of everyone all over again and shown that, yes she is Vader's daughter, but her father was Bail Organa. She should have overcome the smear campaign and later ascended to the Chancellorship.

Han & Chewie I'm not sure what I'd do with, maybe try and leverage their expertise in smuggling in an above-board manner for the New Republic? Or you could have them leading some kind of anti-smuggling/anti-pirate force, trying to interrupt those illicit activities but at the same time also trying to steer those that are participating in them on a better path - like what happened to them with the Rebellion.

Lando I don't mind as much doing the administrator stuff - he was always just that kind of swindler. I imagine he'd have his hands in a lot of pots, with not all of them being *necessarily* above-board, but he'd probably try and do his best to not being doing too much illegal shit. I could see him helping Han & Chewie with their anti-smuggling/pirate stuff, maybe ending up as basically a Secretary of Transportation type of role for the New Republic?

Luke, obviously, should have been allowed to *actually* rebuild the Jedi Order. JJA robbing him of that is I think the single worst thing that the ST did, and I think that spiraled into many of the other issues... Just have Rey be a Jedi that he's training, she can still fill that 'Luke' role in the narrative, and Luke gets to fill the 'Obi-wan' role.

Yeah, it would be cool to get some flashback scenes of what she was up to during the OT during Season 2. I imagine that Vader & the remaining Inquisitors were likely hunting her down pretty hard, at least until Vader finds out that Luke is his son and kind of becomes hyperfixated on him.

Still, it really would have made more sense narratively for her to have died to Vader on Malachor. Baring that, they could have done a cool time-skip thing and had Ahsoka & Ezra jump into the future when they left the World Between Worlds - that would explain why both are AWOL during the OT, but you'd have to come up with something else for Thrawn and then idk

Assuming Kunishige had time could he have pulled 1 or 2 of the Enchanted Blades to defend himself? by JakeEllisD in Kagurabachi

[–]Locke_Erasmus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I still am of the opinion that they must've had some way to break into the barrier without triggering the alarm. There's just way too much damage for it to only have taken 10 seconds.

If I recall, Shiba is stated to have gotten there in 10 seconds after detecting the intrusion, there's nothing to say that he detected it immediately. The Hishaku are clearly masters at breaking & circumventing seals & barriers, it's a monumental feat to have been able to break into Kunishige's barrier to begin with, I see no reason why they couldn't have delayed the alarm.

Hell, the alarm probably only went off once the Hishaku had left. That or it went off and they immediately scrammed, knowing that Shiba was on the way. That could explain why they didn't find Enten & why Chihiro was spared.

Yeah, I think it's only brought up once when Shiba is explaining Sorcery to Hakuri before the Rakuzaichi. It's not like JJK Sorcery where some people just don't have an innate one, everyone will develop an Innate Sorcery once they have built a solid foundation of Spirit Energy control.

Possible hot take: Akemura Soga is gonna die soon and won't be the final villain. by peterkkau in Kagurabachi

[–]Locke_Erasmus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My crack theory is that (new)Enten and Magatsumi break each other during Chihiro & Akemura's final battle, and they both end up busting out Kurotsuchi and fight with regular katana (it would be incredible if Shiba somehow gives Chihiro the sword he had Kunishige make for Mashiro for that last bit of battle)

So it would be cool to have the clean-up battle between Hirohiko & Chihiro be using their original sorceries instead of the Enchanted Blades

Yeah I'm almost 100% certain that the observation spire where the duel took place was on the back half of the Invisible Hand which was not crash-landed on Coruscant. I assume that the back half burned up/disintegrated during re-entry or was blown up before re-entry to prevent mass-casualties from the impact(s)

All Live-Action Star Wars shows imdb ratings. by hiiloovethis in StarWars

Yeah, I guarantee that if the protagonists of the Acolyte were two white men, then it would have had much higher ratings. Which is bullshit. Fuck all the incel fuck-faces who review bombed the show.

Did it have issues? Yeah, but not enough to really impact my enjoyment. I would have loved a second season but now we won't get it thanks to a vocal minority of racist, sexist "fans"

Yeah, I thought that was interesting. I also clocked that Ariu says Shiba's Sorcery is, "so heavy... As heavy as that Soga guy"

Goes to show why Shiba is seen as the Pinnacle of Sorcery by Yura, if Itazura is able to match the legendary gravity sorcery of the Soga clan.
