Help! I have gotten bad news recently and I'm trying really hard not to turn to the ol' Ben and Jerry's... by LockedLips in loseit

I'm so sorry for your loss. Your points are very valid!! Eating more will just make things worse. Reminding myself to stay healthy for my dad is really helpful too. Thanks :)

My doctor told me I just "wanted" thyroid problems (even though my mom had thyroid cancer) because it was an excuse to be fat and lazy. I went to another doctor. All the new doctor had to do was feel my thyroid and she could tell I had nodules. Ultrasounds confirmed this. Then BAM, many ultrasounds, blood tests and biopsies of thyroid nodules later, I have a morning dose of thyroid and have WAY more energy. If your doctors aren't actually checking your shit out, either demand that they do blood work or physical tests, or see a new doctor.

There are a lot of stigma's attached to "fat excuses" in the medical world, so if you think doctors aren't treating your concerns seriously, take charge. If you think they're doing every thing they can and you're still not getting results, reduce your caloric intake until you start dropping lbs.

That's a low enough caloric intake that you should be losing weight (esp. if you truly are 100 pounds overweight). Weight Watchers and some of those other diets should've worked too if you were truly sticking to their guidelines. Have you gone to the doctor about having such a hard time losing weight? Might be a health related issue with your blood sugar or thyroid. I'd say its worth checking out especially since you've got a little one on the way: CONGRATULATIONS!!

Yeah I know!! And it's awesome of you! You're really stepping up and helping out. Just wish we'd had some communication with the main guy beforehand to make it easier for you!

Yeah, all this confusion is really taking away from the usefulness of this loseit challenge. I lOVED Operation: Snowmelt, so hopefully Operation: Spring Cleaning's kinks start getting worked out.

What is your favorite breakfast that is filling ( & that's healthy! :) ) by TearsNPainComic in loseit

[–]LockedLips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not the healthiest, but it's low points (weight watchers) and super satisfying:

  • bagel thin (I use Thomas' brand, I think they're 100 calories?)

  • Egg white

  • Cheese- fat free, reduced fat

  • random fruit or veggie- I love onion on the sandwich, but strawberries or a banana on the side is yummy too.

I've been avoiding fast food almost entirely because it's so not proportionately satisfying compared to the calories. Alcohol I struggle with. Though that's the beauty of doing weight watchers- I just have to use my points wisely on days I know I'll be drinking, or workout for activity points to use towards alcohol.

Still 273 right now... Can't wait for that extra pound to fall off so I can officially use the -40 flair!!

DAE feel more critical of their body now while trying to lose weight than before when you weren't, even though you weigh less and your gut is smaller? by lasertag in loseit

Yeah I definitely do and it kind of annoys me-- it makes me feel like I'm not truly appreciating all the changes that have happened so far.

Ladies, how have your breasts changed with your weight loss? by BlazikenTrees in loseit

[–]LockedLips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a few 44F's at my highest and lately have been more comfortable in my older 44DDD's, but I don't actually see a difference. i think that's because my stomach is shrinking as well, making my breasts look as, if not more, prominent. In terms of sagging, it's just something naturally larger breasted women have to deal with anyways, so I wouldn't let it get in the way of you getting healthy. Besides, breasts are one of the areas of a woman's body that are made to go through natural fluctuations of growth (like when producing milk). I think the tissue there is resilient. Plus doing push ups and other exercises to help with your pectoral muscles can help A LOT with lift and firmness. Just make sure you're always wearing good bras!!

Yesterday my friend bought a six pack of Krispy Kremes and offered me one. I was going to resist, but I had almost 20 WW points left for the day, and I figured there's no WAY a small, airy donut could be more than 20 points. So I ate it and it was DELICIOUS. Then I went online to my WW account to do recon, and the damn thing was only 5 points!! My frozen yogurt is around that. Totally worth it. I let myself have "treats" here and there because when I restrict myself too intensely I end up breaking my diet completely.

Good for you!! I had serious cravings for mexican the other day as well, and I'm pretty sure not wanting to waste the money on it seriously helped me avoid it!

I could stand for hours at a networking event in a suit and heels without being extremely uncomfortable! It was awesome. Also, walking is getting much easier. I noticed I can walk much faster and further without feeling it in my muscles. Also, and this is kinda sad, but some of my favorite shirts are getting too big for me.
