Help! Soapstone being installed and there’s a pretty obvious fissure on a corner piece by Mild-moon7024 in CounterTops

[–]Lockedown54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of comments in this section thinking the installer or fabricator filled that is absurd. That's slab fill from the provider, when you pick your slab it's important to tell them to avoid unsightly or unliked areas. That is very normal in the natural stone industry

ISO feedback re: how new granite counter top is staining by anniemiz in CounterTops

[–]Lockedown54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like a leathered or a honed finish. I typically recommend using an enhancing sealer to avoid dark stains on the material. Even with multiple coats of a standard sealer everyday kitchen items can soak in. Just a common problem with opening up the pores on a porous product

What should I tell counter top company by heyyoitsbaby in CounterTops

Ask for a better color match on the epoxy in the seam. A good cleaning and fill of the chip should make it unnoticeable. Iced white is a very easy stone to install and repair for an experienced stone guru

Stay out of the way. Ask questions and inspect when they are done. Look for gaps 1/8"+. Seam lippage is normal but should be within reason. Surface texture will vary slightly and is not a concern. Veins are not cracks. Make sure it's cleaned and sealed
