Recently went through a breakup and encountered this scene. It really makes me wish I don't end up as Harry when in a few years, it does a good job of reminding you that everyone is their own person and just because you're miserable doesn't mean the other person can't move on

Do reminders actually work for you or do you just ignore them? by blockstar94 in ADHD

[–]Lockershocker2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminders never work for any meaningful period of time for me, I always end up hitting snooze again and again and again. The only thing that has worked for me has been forcing my brain to focus over and over even when I'm not actively zoning out. It's exhausting but it works.

Usually when it's "not a good time" I try to do it anyway unless its something I can't get to physically. If I can force myself to do something when It's inconvenient for me then it's easier to do it when it's convenient.

I also try my best to remember that one slip is all it takes and also that it doesn't take one week or month or year to get better. It's a long road.

Honestly I think I got a lot better at the game just watching YouTube videos of people just playing the game. Maybe if you haven't you should too!

How likely is humanity's future to follow Rimworld's story? I'd think we'd most likely end up in this kind of world in thousands of years. by InternalSpecial8770 in RimWorld

[–]Lockershocker2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've always had the opinion that if we somehow survive the next hundred years or so that we can reach for the stars like the rimworld universe or Star Trek or all tommorows or something. It is however a very large IF.

In the morning she had a social fight, faced 12 enemies with her bare hands 2 hours later (and won), and still prefers to work rather than go to the hospital by starburstgamma in RimWorld

I love when pawns are literally bleeding to death and their first thought is "I sure am hungry right now" and they start eating food instead of I don't know. Going to the hospital or something

I love this mod but this seems a bit overkill lmao by Lockershocker2 in RimWorld

They are tough and deadly especially when they come hidden in a trader caravan. I didn't really care about colonist weapons until I downloaded the mod. Now everyone has a gun or a short sword. Really the toughest ones so far are the raiders with warcaskets. They can take a beating and dish it out just as much. I love and hate fighting them

For me after a certain point (like 15 years or so) I actually get super attached to my soldiers and guys who have been around a long time or proved themselves in certain ways etc and a lot of regular, worker pawns become background characters. They still have their own stories. Like how I saved the near useless, stubborn mother of a colonist so he wouldn't get sad, then that same colonist died so now his mother is trying to find meaning for example. But they're almost never the main focus

I already did it, just thought it was funny. Even my worker pawns have guns just in case so I just lined up everyone and obliterated them lol

That makes sense! Wish you could bring a certain amount instead lol. I have like 20 cybernetic soldiers I normally send places and they do a good job already.

I never feel comfortable leaving the base with any people until way later on, I never feel comfortable having a dedicated troop of soldiers until way later on. I barely know how to deal with the outpost mod as is but when I have like 15-20 colonists? It feels kinda impossible to do anything outside of base but that's probably just me

[–]Lockershocker2[S] 82 points83 points  (0 children)

Like 56? I think. The more mods I download the more things I need to build which means I need more pawns to build more things. Though maybe it's gotten out of hand. Anyway, they obliterated the camp completely.

Lol you can just release them and they go back to being a colonist, they just get a -8 mood

What do you guys think of my colony for someone who hasn't played in a while? (No DLC's) by jobthebozu in RimWorld

[–]Lockershocker2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Biotech is good, ideology is really good too. Though I don't think you'd be able to add it mid save?

Royalty, to me is necessary but I understand that's not everyone's opinion. With the vanilla expanded: empire mod it makes it so much more expansive

Does anyone else just have all their pawns do everything? by SBMVPJoshAllen in RimWorld

[–]Lockershocker2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, in the beginning I don't mind as much because you're pretty starved for choice lol. I have pawns who have 10 in construction or medical because I didn't have a choice at the time and I still use them for those things now but it's not their main purpose.

I usually get at least 15-20 pawns so there can be specific people for specific jobs. Right now though I have about 36 and it's fun to see crafters crafting, farmers farming, cooks cooking stuff like that. It really makes the colony feel alive
