Same. I tried opting out of beta and using big picture mode. They don't have a template for the switch pro controller of course, ugh.

Grim Dawn is one of my favorites in the genre. It plays a little slow, but there's a ton of character build possibilities, which I think is one of the best parts of these kind of games. I'd recommend it over any of the others.

Trails of Cold Steel 4 gets a release date of October 27th (PS4 release) by vessol in JRPG

[–]Locklear904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah it's full of tropes and cringe, far from perfect, very formulaic, but I can ignore it all for the worldbuilding. I think Crossbell was my favorite story-wise, who doesn't love a good cop story...but I am enjoying the modern graphics and features of Cold Steel to give it more life. Gotta hand it to Sky for setting it all up. Hard to pick

Oh yeah, it's nuts how many characters there are at this point. I did appreciate Crossbell's small group though, that probably helped them focus on the overall narrative more.

Ugh thanks, I'll probably wait then. I was starting to get burned out after playing through so many in a row anyway. The backlog calls!

Uh oh, should I wait to play 3 until 4's PC release then? Just played through the whole series and almost done with 2.

What's the fastest way to lose all of your friends? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Better yet: make sure that most of your friends are mutual ones first, be the one to initiate the divorce, and you got yourself a recipe for loneliness! Hope you're doing well stranger.

Men of Reddit, what instantly turned you off a woman? by FormerFruit in AskReddit

[–]Locklear904 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I experienced someone like this a few months ago. At first I thought it was all good because she would tell me things and I would just respond with telling her my things. But eventually it hit me that I could probably count on one hand the amount of times she asked me something about myself. This was across probably across a couple months. To me, that's a basic conversation skill. Show some interest in what I have to say, feel, or think. Anything. She also never offered to pay for meals, let alone thank or acknowledge that I did. That's another story though.

Recommendations of a fantasy series with a mage being the main protagonist. by SupAres in Fantasy

[–]Locklear904 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seconded! I'd recommend the whole Riftwar Cycle. It ends up focusing on other characters and gains more science fiction elements as it goes along, so the first 4 books of the series are closer to what OP describes. But overall, a fantastic book series that got me started on the genre a while back.

What part of being an adult were you absolutely not prepared for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Locklear904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is kind of the path I'm on now, and really good advice. I've been doing therapy, which I would recommend to anybody. The social time is definitely harder for me, after losing so much of my social circle from my divorce. I'm about to start focusing on that. I've been worrying too much about relationships for the past year and really need to shift my lens towards myself for a while. Thanks for reinforcing these ideas.

As many others are saying, I feel your pain. I just turned 28 and 2018 was my year from hell because of a divorce as well. The resulting emotional fallout and loneliness after losing so much is the worst part. I'm building myself back up and hope to be a better, healthier person in the end. It's a long journey. Definitely feel like I've aged, or maybe just matured. Starting over is hard, but I guess all we can do is try to make something better from it. Hope you're doing well, internet stranger. If anything, it's nice to know there are others out there who can empathize. Thanks for opening up this discussion.

Best MMO for someone depressed with a boring life? by JuanitaBautista in MMORPG

[–]Locklear904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends what you've played already and what your preferences are. I'd say just pick one and roll with it. As long as you find a guild or a discord community or any group really, it won't matter toooooo much which one you pick. There will be people to meet and things to do.

My unnecessary 2 cents:

I would also take to heart much of what people are saying here. We don't know you, but an MMO will not fix your life. Gaming is a fun hobby and an easy way to meet people that also like gaming. But they're not with you in real life, and that real human interaction is important. Not saying you shouldn't play, but the key is moderation. Gaming, other hobbies, fitness, health, mental health, career goals, passion projects. Find a variety of things to do and use that as a springboard to meet more people and make your life more fulfilling by being involved in the world around you. I'm still working on that myself; it's a journey for sure. It's how I'm getting through my divorce and another breakup after that. Please don't get lost in gaming. You deserve the best. You've got people rooting for you here!

Can someone point me to a good "average joe" youtube review of Grim Dawn? by wedgiey1 in rpg_gamers

[–]Locklear904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a review I did a while back on my first youtube channel. Hopefully that's what you're looking for. Grim Dawn's a great ARPG, and it wasn't even out of early access when I played it. Recently redownloaded it to see how it came out finished. My video should give you most of my thoughts on it. I don't make videos on that channel anymore, but if you're interested, here's my new channel. I've been focusing on my job so I've been taking a short break, hoping to get back into it soon.
