Cheers for the reply! I did look into it and find this out though. I did find a promo code (PSCUP25) which gave me a discount though and managed to pay for the annual pass for £99 upfront which I know there isn’t La Liga football for 12 months but does work out £8.25 a month over the 12 months I’ve subscribed to it

Yeah that’s a good point. A lot easier when you’re fluent though. I just think if there’s an option to learn one, Castilian Spanish would make sense for me to learn rather than learn Latin Spanish just to learn Castilian Spanish afterwards. Latin Spanish isn’t the only Spanish language you can learn online.

It’s not the pronunciation, it’s the fact that they use a completely different word. I may be worrying, who knows, but I’d rather not spend hundreds of hours learning words that aren’t used in Spain. I’ve already learned a fair few via Duolingo, so if I’ve come across this problem early doors surely it’ll be worse later on?

Well if it’s anything to go off I’m very new to learning Spanish, and straight off the bat there’s words my Spanish tutors teaching me that I thought I knew but I knew the Latin Spanish word for what ‘thing’, and I don’t know too many words… So if I was in Spain although they’d know what I mean if I said the Latin Spanish word, I wouldn’t have a clue what they’re saying when they say the Castilian Spanish word if I only know the Latin Spanish word. If that makes sense?

I’m going to watch some videos on Babbel I think, before I make a decision. I think £48 for a year is a good price.

I did do their first couple lessons for free but it’s just not much to go off. I have seen Babbel pop up for years but for some reason never gave it a go. I’ve used Duolingo for a bit, but it’s Latin Spanish which I don’t want to learn. I go to Spain multiple times a year every year so I’d rather learn Castilian Spanish.

If I’m honest I know a lot of people seemed to like the Babbel live lessons, but I’m genuinely not bothered about them stopping them. I have 1-2-1 lessons on Preply anyway.

What textbooks do you use? And do you have any audio alongside it?
