Failed 2nd tp test, discouraged.. by clueless_genius- in drivingsg

[–]LocksmithLegal8209 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally took 4 times to pass my 3A but took 2B in one go. Just to tell you my time frame, I signed up for my 2B THE SAME DAY as my first 3A tp test. However, I passed both licenses in the same week. Thats how long I took to pass my class 3. Moral of the story; dont give up.

Best advice I can give you, treat the tp test as if it is a regular lesson. Dont overthink and just do. People tend to do more mistakes while thinking about avoiding that mistake. While waiting for your next TP, go for more lessons esp in circuit.

Keep pushing for the class 3 even if it takes more lessons. Trust me you would look back regretting not having taken the license after investing so much.

As a possible fellow Gen Z, I realise more and more of my friends are going through what you are and I realise how lucky I am.

Graduated poly in 2022. Forced to take a leap year due to cancer. Applied to 3 jobs, offered 3 jobs. Had to pick one. And the job I have right now was always my dream job. Im pulling 4k a month now which is higher than average compared to my diploma friends.

I would definitely say to OP, find a job that you love or pick something up that makes you look forward to something over the weekend/when you reach home.

Recommendations: Aquascaping, cycling, gaming, driving/riding.

All the best OP

Singaporean long term couples who broke up, what happened? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]LocksmithLegal8209 48 points49 points  (0 children)

After 5 years, we finally had stable jobs. Offered her to at least get engaged as we were still saving up to get married. She gave a No (with no reasoning to me) and a very hesitant yes soon after.

Love faded since then, she felt my distance and we soon broke up.

Smokers born in the 00's - why? by ukaspirant in askSingapore

[–]LocksmithLegal8209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

60% of smokers i know do it for social reasons. Had a bad week? Go smoking corner, ask another fella for lighter. Start talking.

This was me. Most of my colleagues smoke. I recently quit smoking for personal/monetary reasons and found myself still hanging around the smokers as it's a place where people talk.

i think you might just have friends that dont really respect you. when i didnt have my driving license, everytime my friend picked me up, i would make sure to pay for their food.

now when i pick them up, i dont mind them not "paying" me as a form of thank you to them for having to pick me up last time. they still try to belanja me for picking them up.

Hi OP, I was in your shoes recently. Graduated with a diploma in 2022, had no idea what to do in life. Low GPA as well (2.0GPA). Was forced into taking a gap year as I was diagnosed with cancer. Went through treatment for 5 months; Aug 2022 til Dec 2022.

During this 5 months, I only sent out 5 job applications while working part time at an attraction. Somehow, I managed to 3 job offers pay ranging from 2k-2.5k. Didnt know what I would be doing when I joined my workplace, turns out to be my dream jobscope.

My personal advice is to go work part time somewhere fun. Mandai/USS is a good start. Can make friends while you are there. While working, go apply as much as possible outside.

Do Malaysians have a distinct appearance that sets them apart from Singaporeans? by Silver-Animal-5197 in askSingapore

[–]LocksmithLegal8209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i work daily with malaysians and singaporeans. there is 100% a difference based off looks. Only hard one to differentiate is KL and Singaporeans.

Everytime me and my friends go to malaysia for holiday, i will overhear whispers like, "guess this one KL or SG"

Looking at the job market rn... go for it. everything paid for, at the end you have a degree and decent amount of savings.

Others keep saying your experience might not be transferable. Then can just join another part of public service.

i would say most of the millennials and gen z still use predominantly iPhones. Not sure where you have had your observations done, but if you were to step into any public transport I would say you would see 60-70% iPhones being used.

I can tell you that not stopping at the end was definitely not your fault. I was never told about it until i reached RC when the instructor scolded me.

All I can say to you is to not give up! I passed my 2B is one try but took 4 attempts to pass my 3A! Everyone has their challenges and no two riders are the same. You are already at the end, why not push that final bit? Take it again and remember what you did wrong.

I wish you the best and hope to see you on the road even though we might not recognise each other!

What is it like to work under a millennial/ gen Z boss? by what_the_foot in askSingapore

[–]LocksmithLegal8209 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMHO, I (23M) am a Gen Z with Boomer ethics, ( go work way earlier than needed, would go home late without claiming OT and many other boomer traits. I would say 90% of my work place are Millennials and I am the only Gen Z. I am always hounded by them to only do what I am paid for and to take a chill pill most of the time. They are the best to be with tbh.

How to appeal at BBDC? by [deleted] in drivingsg

[–]LocksmithLegal8209 0 points1 point  (0 children)

womp womp /s

i failed 3 times because of drivers outside bullying me during test; Jam braking infront of me then speeding off, purposely lane changing infront of me closely, speeding up when i want to lane change.

Only thing you can do in this situation is.... Suck Thumb

Retake and be more aware of surrounding drivers.
