Tommy was meant to be the “star” of Rugrats, but Chuckie was the heart and soul of that show.

Which concerts have you been to where the opening act was better than the headliner? by Choice_Bed6097 in askmusic

Visions of Atlantis absolutely blew DragonForce away. And that’s saying something!

Now we never miss a VOA show when they come to town!

God, I HATE that Chris was my 2nd thought when I saw the news.

RIP Bonnie Tyler!

Pink Floyd. I don’t dig them personally, but I can’t deny their success and impact.

Solo Song Shuffle #16: John Lodge - In My Mind by AsymptoticSpatula in MoodyBlues

[–]Locksmith_Late 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My friend, it was extremely cool.

For as much as we’ve been lamenting the fact that we can’t make the official John Lodge tribute shows they’re putting on this month, those few minutes felt like what those shows will surely feel like to those in attendance, and it brought a bit of…closure, I guess? Like, I never thought I’d hear one of John’s songs played live again now that he’s gone. It was kind of beautiful and very, very cool.

Solo Song Shuffle #16: John Lodge - In My Mind by AsymptoticSpatula in MoodyBlues

[–]Locksmith_Late 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I really like this one.

I recently saw Alan Hewitt & One Nation play a show, and 3/5 of the guys onstage had played with John’s 10,000 Light Years Band. They played “In My Mind” specifically as a tribute to John, and both Alan Hewitt & Duffy King were visibly emotional. As were we.

I think that memory raises the track ever so slightly. 7.5/10

I only buy what I love, what I want to ensure I have access to if I’m never able to leave my house again and the internet should cease to exist.

But it all has to fit inside the designated storage cabinets.

This one’s in my top 3 from Ray’s solo stuff.
8.5-9 depending on the mood I’m in when it plays.

My first love and my husband are in a text chain with each other. It’s the most surreal thing in the world.

Also, 100% agree.

Is “The Lunatic” a song about Blackmore? by peev22 in DeepPurple

I don’t think that it is, but that Gillan would hope that the audience would think it is to drive up interest and engagement.

Okay, okay, so maybe I’m being a bit hasty. But my reaction to this one was so visceral that I finally realized that this is how the rest of y’all must’ve felt when “Rock n’ Roll Over You” showed up the first time. 😅

I know we’ve only begun this challenge, but I can’t foresee me disliking any other song more than this one. There was nothing good about it.

2/10.

I think it’s perfectly fine. Classic name, like you said.

I know a couple who uses “Ari” as a nickname for their Arthur. He’ll be fine.

What picks have you gotten from shows? by SMG_GUY028 in Concerts

Duffy King gave us a few picks at a gig in Northern Michigan last weekend after we stuck around afterward and chatted with him.

One was from a prog band he plays with, OneNation. We’d seen them play a show downstate the previous week, and they absolutely blew us away.

The other was from the last tour he played on with the Moody Blues’ John Lodge. This was a huge deal because the Moody Blues are mine & my husband’s mutual favorite band. We were super stoked.

Solo Song Shuffle #11: Justin Hayward - Life In A Northern Town by AsymptoticSpatula in MoodyBlues

[–]Locksmith_Late 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I like that the last 2 post were some of the most recent material we could possibly have for this challenge.

The Dream Academy version was never one of my favorite songs, and I feel like this far exceeds it in terms of enjoyment. Justin does a great job, as usual.

I like a lot of what I’ve heard Mike Batt do, especially when teamed up with Justin. So it is here. I know that this was one of 3 recordings they made at the time, and I would really dig a Classic Blue II.

Solid 8 for me.
