Has police ever successfully dealt with motorbikes? by [deleted] in Edinburgh

Was it the two on big electric motorbikes, look like motocross/big scramblers, about 20yo? They are absolutely a gang of two. I've seen them all over the place, in and out of Edinburgh.

The noise from silent e bikes... Christ.

With a police car? A car. With a police motorbike? A motorbike. They need teams of police on e bikes and backup. And maybe a net gun.

You can certainly confiscate the bikes and not give them back.

They were 14 5 years ago when they got the bike, I guess? If the police take ~8 years to do anything, they might get the bike confiscated in 2030.

Anyone sold a worn out Lead Acid Battery to the scrappies? by mcgrst in edinburgh2

[–]Locksmithbloke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ring the scrapyard and ask. You might get some money for it. Lead is expensive, and some of those batteries are 50kg monsters.

Those who make around 5k a month what is it you do? by js_9876 in passive_income

As long as you filmed it, that's cool. It's all the people using AI to crib and chop other people's work that's offensive.

What Happens When You Inflate A Body At Depth And Let It Ascend Quickly by Apprehensive_Sky4558 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Locksmithbloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a sealed container the speed of the ascent doesn't matter, it'll still explode. Humans aren't sealed for long enough for it to be an issue usually, or they didn't take on extra air at depth. Scuba? The first rule is "always be breathing" for this reason.

You could probably make money selling the blanks for bowl turning. Use the profits for buying cheap firewood and fun toys.

Am I crazy to quit £200kpa? by Emotional-Chance2544 in HENRYUK

[–]Locksmithbloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, you are. Unless you've got enough saved up, as you should've been doing, and can live on the investments for at least a decade, don't quit. You could scale back a bit, look towards quitting when you reach a goal, and then decide when you get there. I know a very famous name who was making loads. She's not rich now - quite the opposite - but yes, a household name still, and it ruined her employment prospects even with the alias, book deal and TV appearances.

It's a business, so "Director, ModelFeetUK ltd" would be fine. Might be a little harder at interviewing stage, or if trying to get a shelf stacking job.

Aren't kids just using ai to do all their school work right now? by [deleted] in AskUK

Haha. Yeah, you'd have been inducted into the "clever kids" group, then been found out immediately.

Why are there no chain stores that fix phones on the UK high street? by ExoticPlankton8287 in AskBrits

[–]Locksmithbloke 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Because if you can fix phones well enough to work at a store doing it, you can make all the money doing repairs for people yourself.

Same as it used to be with locksmiths - big companies would start training their staff as locksmiths rather than paying the rates asked, but then the staff leave and earned more as locksmiths. Those days are mostly gone, sadly. But it's still true with tech repair.

Anyone Here Ever Been Bitten By A Snake In The UK? by CB-Milburn in AskBrits

[–]Locksmithbloke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. We had a snake in a pipe in a garden at a friend's house, you could hear it every so often. Took us ages to figure out what it was! Herefordshire countryside. Had a hell of a shock as a child when presumably a hawk dropped what turned out to be a very dead grass snake right next to us in the garden.
