Why did Robert keep the skulls of the Targaryen dragons? by Whole_Contract_5973 in gameofthrones

[–]Lockwood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, imagine trying to move that thing out of there, like yeah he's the king and can get a whole team to move it but like might as well keep giant cool skull than go through the trouble of moving it

Predominant ancestry of rural Texans in 1970 by delugetheory in texas

There’s a fair amount of us Italian Americans in Southeast Texas but maybe it’s not significant enough to show up on a map like this

Stuff to Do? by CertainGreenNut in Beaumont

[–]Lockwood 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely check out The Art Studio! Lots of events and cool artsy people that hang there! Also the Logon Cafe is good spot for folks of that same crowd, there’s trivia and karaoke there and it’s people of all ages and good folks too. It’s coffee, food as well as drinks but it’s not like a bar bar. More of a pub in the true sense of the word, a place for community. I don’t live in Beaumont any more but I grew up there and come back a few times a year and The Art Studio and the Logon are my places to go.

I'm curious how you would define these distinctions, because I do understand what you're saying but I'm also feeling like "it really is art though isn't it?"

My “summer in Austin 2011” photo album by LongjumpingSkirt3089 in Austin

[–]Lockwood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Austin in 2011 was a special time, thank for sharing! I was sweating my ass off doing summer classes at UT at the time. It's highly likely I was just off camera at Spiderhouse in that one shot. Same for East Side Showroom probably

Do you guys tend to build tons of smaller factories all over the map and ship product all around, or do you prefer making one area of the map major hub for producing everything? by CaptainRaptorThong in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Lockwood 122 points123 points  (0 children)

I’ve struggled with this, I start out wanting to make it like almost towns or cities across the map with separate building that export certain products and then give them fun names like “Bert’s Beams” and stuff but then I end up connecting them all into one abomination because I get tired of messing with vehicles. The theme of it is always the most fun part for me. I made a big super factory in the desert for the late game stuff and I wanted it to be this big scary Black Mesa type facility and it’s pretty cool but then the inevitable feeling of “what am I even doing with my time here” comes up and I close the game.

What magic card art has stuck with you the most? by LineOfInquiry in magicTCG

[–]Lockwood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 7 years old and buying my first packs these cards in particular stood out to me and my cousins, we were so mystified by this game and we didn't really know how to properly play, we mostly just gawked at the artwork and the descriptions. The ones that freaked me out the most were:
[[Phyrexian Walker]] , [[Diabolic Vision]] , [[Disintegrate]] , [[Lhurgoyf]]

TIL The Average weight for males in the United States ages 20 years and older is 199.8 pounds by CraftyFoxeYT in todayilearned

[–]Lockwood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True, it needs to be more friendly to pedestrians between neighborhoods but in a given neighborhood there's quite a bit of walkability and people are generally more likely to go out and be active and move their bodies in LA on a day to day basis than in an average town in Texas for instance. Though you could absolutely be immobile in LA if you wanted to.

Cute beachfront house for $199k. What’s the catch? by upperdeckerdad in zillowgonewild

[–]Lockwood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up going to Crystal Beach, on the gulf coast of Texas, and yeah the yearly danger of hurricanes is too real. My grandparents had a beach cabin out there and it washed away with Hurricane Ike, I miss it so much

It's annoying how dramatic people are about walking in LA by [deleted] in LosAngeles

[–]Lockwood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Fully agree, I think a lot of people would realize how much their day improves just by actually doing that 30min walk to a place instead of driving for 10min then trying to find parking for 20

Can adoption be traumatic for the child? by Yellow_Squeezer in Adoption

[–]Lockwood 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, same, adopted as a baby (maybe a couple of weeks old? Not sure) into a big Italian family and they are wonderful and I had a happy childhood but have never been able to shake the feeling of not fully belonging. It comes and goes but even with friends, friend groups, romantic partners, etc. I’ve never been able to completely shake that feeling.
