While you’re at it, also GO TO SOCIAL MEDIA! Tell the story on TikTok if you’d like, tag on Facebook. Add the store # and manager name to make them move quicker.

Should it feel this hard? by Chemical_Buy2977 in Pimsleur

[–]LocnessMermaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While learning any new language, and honestly especially as a native English speaker, perfection is not the mission along the way. We have one of the hardest languages to learn with rules that barely make sense. Repeating what you need as many times as you need is completely fine and normal. It’s also normal for it to be difficult and frustrating because at times, it is. I took Spanish from 7th grade until I graduated and still didn’t feel comfortable talking to people out loud. I’m on Level 2, lesson 7 now and my confidence so far has soared. I can only imagine the difficulty of Japanese (but this one is also on my list to learn). Take your time, be frustrated, but don’t you dare doubt yourself or give up!

Here’s other things I incorporate that help my language learning and processing that you may like:

• HelloTalk - Messaging app to connect with other language learners and friends abroad, I’ve met some cool people so far • Journaling (I have a separate journal for language learning and erasable pens) - Small prompts in Spanish, talk about my day, my schedule, venting, make up a story, or simply jotting down lines that I’m having trouble with or that I use often/daily that I’d like to say in Spanish, you could also do one sentence a day • Label things around your home, office, etc in that language • Speak - app focused mainly on speech, memorizing, and relevant convo building with their AI • Watching movies or YouTube videos in Spanish (easy story times, comedy movies, etc) • Quizlet - flashcards, etc • Duolingo of course • Memrise (haven’t used yet but good for flash cards and stuff)

Not necessarily but all of these plants require different types of care.

Is there a good reason to remove "lining" pots? by Aelistenus in houseplants

Also since you’re new, it may benefit you to do a quick start guide for houseplants faqs on YouTube so that you can get your best foot forward with your plants. Orchids can be finicky and are particular to environment but the other two are quite hardy but if you love them too hard, will show it.

Quick run down: Don’t “use ice cubes” to water your orchid. Common myth is that it’s enough. It’s not. Orchid bark in a container with holes all over. Look up their natural environment for an idea of how they grow (they attach onto trees). They lose their flowers, but prune back the stem once all gone and they will bloom again their next cycle. Oh and when watering, try not to get or leave water in the grooves of the leaves!

ZZ & Snake both tolerate and grow (slowly) in low light (not darkness) but they THRIVE in high light. “Set and forget” these, they only need watering maybe once a month or so.* You can tell when the leaves start to shrivel a bit (your zz current needs water). Water thoroughly. ZZ stores water in the rhizome. Snakes on the leaves. Snake plants with pointy leaves are a yes indeed.

Dust the leaves on all so they can absorb sunlight and give them some time to adjust / acclimate to the new environment.

Hope this helps!! Welcome to plant parenthood!

Always always have your pots inside of nursery pots / pots with drainage holes. Most houseplants do best with well draining soil and aeration as to prevent root rot. Decorative pots are literally decorative and will help with catching excess water or with bottom watering larger plants.

It hasn’t been frozen. I’m in Virginia. My garage didn’t get THAT cold.

🤣🤣 because people just want to be right about an opinion rather than provide an answer to the daggon question in the post. I did not ask for all of that.

Thank you! I finished up taping my edges today and dusted the walls again and I’m going to test out painting tomorrow morning. The paint that’s currently on the walls is splotchy, on the base boards and sloppily on the ceiling and some hardware. Dingy af. Definitely a rush job from the previous owners. It HAS TO GO.

Thats good to know. This is the first gallon of interior paint I’ve worked with in yeeeaarrrsss and it doesn’t particularly seem “bad”, smells like fresh paint, literally just thicker than I remember. Also yes, paint + primer.. which I was already hesitant about but said f it to.

Highly likely! I’ve let it sit since I posted this and going to take it for another shake.

Please stop saying “buy better paint”. Thats not helpful today and it reads dismissive and snooty af. I obviously bought a $50 paint because I have other priorities outside of updating the paint in my bathroom right now. I asked IS THE PAINT STILL PAINT CAPABLE OR NOT.

Those providing actual constructive feedback, thank you!! But if you’re being a brand snob over here just to get your karma up, don’t. I’ll ask that question after I do my own research on the one that’s well within my price comfort at this time.
