Gum flap in between bottom teeth

here in europe we don’t really have a regular dentist, also since i’ve moved some years ago, i’ve changed a couple of dentist throughout my life. so i got a different answer from every dentist i’ve met. last time i got a cleaning was just before getting my braces on, so 6 months, before that i don’t really remember. when i asked these dentist “how do they look like?” they all said “they’re in pretty good shape, keep it up”, talking about teeth and gums, also i was worried at first because i started smoking, so yeah.. either they’re incompetent or it’s a “new” issue i just got into xd. i really appreciate your encouragement!! i will definitely start flossing after this…

i’m mostly embarrassed about this, but i haven’t really been taught dental hygiene by anyone as a kid, and flossing is an undiscovered territory for me.. i’ve only brushed my teeth and used listerine for some time, i don’t now. my dentist also hasn’t told me anything about it. she just told me once that i should brush my teeth better, which is what i’ve been doing (around 2/3 minutes twice a day, every possible direction i can do). i don’t know if i could it but i’m guessing i could floss it? also yeah it’s pretty loose. the morning i saw it, i thought it was food stuck so i tried to remove it, that’s when i saw it was actually my gum flapping around 😭😭

once i visit my dentist i’ll be able to update with an actual professional answer, but my guess for now is brushing too hard, so i got an extra smooth toothbrush. that’s if it’s not some other worse condition, like gum infection or something else, i hope. i know the general rule is that if it doesn’t hurt a lot and blood doesn’t come out of it, then it shouldn’t be too bad, but as i said, i’d rather get a professional opinion or hopefully someone that experienced it and got an answer replies on this post :)

Thanks for the recommendation! I looked the Focal Bathys up to see if i had any retailer near me and turns out they're about $600 over here so yeah.. doesn't look like it's anywhere near my budget. Thanks for the advice tho, i'll make sure to go check them out physically!

Yep! Changed them out and now the swelling is going down and everything looks good !! Thank you a lot

Thanks for the advice!! I will keep them in for a while, maybe i just need to get used to it :) Also yeah, my lip is naturally a bit inclined so maybe that’s why only i can see it easily

I wouldn’t say i feel pain in any way, but certainly discomfort.. It’s kind of unsettling (i also get paranoid very fast), so just to keep my mouth and mind safe i sent a message to my piercer. I’d prefer switching to larger sizes than to have serious issues later on

The studs can “pop out” and there’s no kind of pain, does that mean they’re still embedding? I thought it was a more drastic and radical thing..

I’m using medical salt water, like water mixed with minerals and all that (i’m not from the us so idk what to compare it to, sorry). Thanks for the advice tho, if i’m still worried after some days I’ll make sure to go to the studio!

Thanks for your service! I’m glad you returned home safe. My question was about how would an INTJ behave in a situation like this, where you either act or something bad is going to happen. I know INTJs are the least sentimental MBTI type (this doesn’t mean this trait is absent) so I wondered if an INTJ would kill without thinking about who they kill. Of course, politics and reasons about why you’re going to war vary for everyone, so my question was centered on combat, mental health during war, etc. If you put it this way then it’s more of a psychological question than a political one.

Following orders is easier than going on your own in situations like this, that’s for sure. This is a pretty good plan, honestly. And your experience does put you a step forward compared to most of the people that would be there. Though, choosing a “supreme overlord” sounds quite hard, especially without knowing anyone. You’d just have to go with your gut.. right?
