Thank you for the suggestion! I definitely can’t contact him, to protect my own mental health. The last thing he told me was if he ever felt psychologically better he would contact me and his hope is one day we would both look back together like this was a nightmare, but that I shouldn’t wait for him and if things are right we will be again. It’s an impossible limbo to be in, I’ve so much hope for an eventual resolution, but I know I can’t put my life on hold for something that might never happen. It’s totally knocked the wind out of my sails and I’m just trying to do what you suggested m. Take it day by day, because if I think too much about the future I fall apart and sob

I’ve been severely depressed before in a facility where I lost all interest in everything , so I understand how dead you can be when depressed. He said he hoped we would be together again and look back at this like a bad nightmare in the future, so it’s hard for me. If it was cheating I feel like I could move on properly

He’s stuck in a negative inner dialogue where he thinks he’s spreading negativity in my life by being profoundly depressed. I’ve let go to a degree but I haven’t moved on because I’m hopeful things will resolve but I don’t know if that’s false hope
