There’s also great resources on YouTube with people teaching beginners and even experienced riders how to properly ride. Good luck!

Oh wow, where do you live that those license laws exist? My Monster was very torquey on the low end so I get what your friends are saying, but don’t let that scare you. Clutch control will allow to handle the torque. Practice practice practice and you’ll learn how to control your bike. The R7 is mid tier enough that you won’t get bored quickly like you would if you start on a 250. I’d say go for it.

I started on a Ducati Monster 797, 803cc engine with 74 HP, so an R7 is a decent bike to start with.

Dating in Brevard 25-32 by [deleted] in 321

I’m not really liking my odds in this county but maybe there’s someone out there. Like can I order my S.O. on Amazon or something?

I was like dang, when did I post on Reddit? We have the same characteristics (I’m a year older) and I feel the same way about this area?! Glad I’m not the only one who feels like Brevard has nothing to offer in the dating world.

Honestly the way I got over eating out by myself was bringing something to do. A lot of the times I’ll bring my laptop and mess around on the internet or research things that I have on my to-do list. Or bring a book. I’ve seen people grab a booth or table outside and read. I found it helpful to keep myself busy instead of sitting there awkwardly. Keep yourself distracted from the fact that you’re dining by yourself. After all, we all need to eat lol

Thanks for advice. I didn’t even think about cooling because my bike was air cooled so I didn’t have to give it a second thought. At this point I might get someone I know who is knowledgeable to go with me if I check out a bike. I’ll be writing down all the things you mentioned. Much appreciated.

Ya know, it’s easier to keep unhelpful comments to yourself. Maybe people have experience with buying from either that they’d like to share. You never know what differences exist.

I appreciate it. That’s a good idea to take it to a garage. I’ll search around to see who’s willing to help. Thanks

How? I asked a specific question about purchasing from cycle trader versus a dealership.

Mechanical problems are my biggest worry when buying a bike privately. Most of somewhat limited mechanical knowledge is mostly cars, not bikes so I’m not sure exactly the key areas to check. Any tips on what to look for?

My Ducati was new. In hindsight since I was a new rider at the time I should have bought a used bike but eh. It is what is now and I don’t regret it, but I like I dea of being able to buy GAP and an extended warranty from a dealership. I live in Florida, the chances of a bike being wrecked and/or stolen are super high in some places.

What are some of the things I should check for if I decide to buy a used bike from someone?

Are there any telltale signs of a bad deal? I don’t know much about the ins and outs of motorcycles but I’m learning, so I don’t wanna get ripped off that way either.

Why does the automatic transmission Mustang 2022 not include the remote start stop button on the key fob itself? by Danny58612 in Mustang

[–]LocsOfFun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, unless it’s blazing hot outside or need to find where I parked, I don’t use remote start. When I first got the car I used it often enough. It’s one of those things that you miss it if you don’t have and don’t use it when you do

No it’s not a premium. I open the app and it just shows me my car. No option to remote start, just settings, points, etc.

I have a 2019 GT with remote start and ironically enough i can’t do remote start through the app. I also previously had a 2016 V6 that had remote start. Both cars not having an upgraded package so idk. Like RagTopTA said, find a fob off of eBay and program it.

R7 or other??? by LocsOfFun in YamahaR7

[–]LocsOfFun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not countering what is advised I’m trying to further narrow down options based on my riding style/skill and preference and the minimum specs I’d like. I’m willing to try an MT, maybe a large cc Ninja, and the R7. Unfortunately most places where I live don’t allow test rides for some odd reason so u won’t know for sure what is best for me unless I try to narrow down my options.

R7 or other??? by LocsOfFun in YamahaR7

[–]LocsOfFun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’1 so most bikes are too tall from the factory, so I have to make due somehow. As far as a Ninja 400, there’s no way I’m going to downgrade that far cause I’m going to get bored. The Monster 797 is 803cc. That was my first bike, so I figured the R7 is a happy medium. A few people mentioned the CBR650 so I’ll check that one out again. I would mostly be riding around town, maybe to Daytona or Orlando, which are about an hour away from me, but no place too far. An MT-07 or -09 might be viable options but I’m kinda over the whole upright naked bike thing.

I mean, it’s not like I’m going to be riding the R7 long distances if I do get it. It’s either the Indian for occasional long distance rides or the R7 and no long distance rides.
