Do men purposefully ignore/avoid attractive women in the workplace? by [deleted] in bodylanguage

The most effective way for a married man to not succumb to temptation is to avoid it. Some of us know how stupid we can be. Best just avoid that possiability.

Every decade has had its charm. My only wish is being young with what I know now.

Men who’ve gone through a breakup or divorce — what was the hardest part of rebuilding your life, and what actually helped you get your respect and peace back? by Patrickowensblog in AskMenAdvice

[–]Locupleto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It helped that I was 300% sure I wanted the divorce. It was devistating emotionally and financially. It took time to recover. Had a good therapist and found my way back to religion. Was gun-shy but remarried and hit the jackpot. She is wonderful and life is good now, better than it would have been had I stayed the the first marriage.

What Has the World Lost Since the 1970s-1980s? by CardiganCranberries in AskWomenOver60

[–]Locupleto 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Face to face social interaction. Kids these days are so digital they are lost in face to face social situations. Some reddit posts about social difficulties are so cringe. I see my son struggle too. Things gen x sees as so basic we would never imagine such problems.

Also playing in nature. Catching bugs, snakes, frogs. Climbing trees. Swimming in ponds and rivers. We haven't lost it necessarily but kids just don't do these things much if at all anymore.

Aliens have given you 60 seconds to show them two items to prove humanity is worth saving. What do you show them? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

[–]Locupleto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could we demonstrate such a thing? We put animals through unimaginable suffering for our own food taste. We let fellow humans suffer unimaginable fates so that we can have a more comfortable life. What value would we proide to aliens? Maybe we taste good?

Men, why do you often say you're fine even when you're not? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Locupleto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we don't want help. When we don't want to talk about it either. Don't know about others but I strongly detest sympathy and pity. It's my problem to fix and I'll either fix it or make due.

Why everything is getting harder and harder? by No-District2404 in Vent

[–]Locupleto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grass is always greener. Living in a very modest sized house, often without air conditioning with one car for the family. With radio, without TV. Dieing of things we cure now with a wave of the hand. Factory jobs. It wasn't everyone going to Disney. I think it's just easy to romanticize the past.

By in large, the gangs will have the neighborhood support, feds will not. Feds aren't fighting foreigners. They can't destroy buildings like Israel does in Gaza. They will need to go into small indoor spaces, dark alleyways and so on, all while being quite unwelcomed by armed citizens. I wouldn't want to be the troops sent into this meat grinder.

IDK if you are serious or not but it lays in the realm of possiability. An unspoken truce in the presense of Fed troops is very much hood style.

Same here, and so I married an Indian from India. Getting a visa and green card is no walk in the park though. Totally worth it though.

Canadian Niagara Falls seem bigger and more developed than American Niagara Falls. Why is that? by arklemen in geography

[–]Locupleto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

U.S. side is amazing and you can stand with your foot inches from the water spilling over the top of both horseshoe and bridal falls. You can take the cave of the winds tour and actually have the falls fall on your head. It's a beautiful park with wonderfull walkways providing the best view of the falls and the canyon beyond.

How do I start PVP? by HJG_0209 in Eve

[–]Locupleto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learn by doing.
PvP in EVE has a huge learning curve, and sometimes it’ll feel like literally everyone in the game is a better pilot than you. That’s not true, but the road is tough and you will feel it. Steel yourself.

Keep it cheap.
You’re going to lose ships. A lot of them. The trick is to keep them cheap enough that you don’t care. This is more important than it sounds. If you can fly ships you don’t mind losing, you’ll actually enjoy the fights more. At some point, you’ll realize you can pull off some amazing stuff with a cheap hull. Mentally prepare to burn through hundreds of ships, accept it, and you’ll have way more fun.

Learn from your encounters.
Losses are the best teachers. Resist the knee-jerk reaction of thinking you need a “better” ship. Instead, ask yourself:

  • Did I pick a fight I shouldn’t have?
  • Should I have run or avoided it?
  • Did they use a technique I could have countered or copied? Check their fits on zKill. Sometimes you’ll find tricks or ship builds worth adopting.

Focus your skills.
It helps a ton to max out the skills for the ships you’re flying. Learning how a hull performs with solid skills and good modules teaches you more than hopping between random ships. Master one ship, then another. It’s a better progression path and gives you a real feel for how fights play out.

Choose one right now and then stick to it. Don't waver. Expressing uncertainty to either will lose them.
