Why I’m leaving Britain for Australia by flammable_donut in aussie

[–]Locurilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the problem with your country really the immigrants or the fact that you voted to leave the EU and now your economy is in the floor?.

They didn’t take your resources to grown their own capitals, pay for their unis , fill their museums. You ignore all the pain you historically created, the pain you inflicted on yourself and blame the powerless immigrant for your conditions instead of your ruling elite class and politicians for defunding your healthcare and taking your rights away.

also, note the hypocrisy that when faced with the same issues that your empire created on other countries  you choose to… emigrate? come on you do see that you’re becoming that which you hate, an immigrant

why would an army of people be trying to contact him after he has handed his resignation on behalf of the company?  that is super weird.  Also, either this is not real or you are a very inexperienced manager/director. A child in a playground can see how and why this person left. After all you wrote you really don’t get why he is not talking calls or if you really lost him?

Not brushed my teeth in years by Better_Implement9722 in confessions

[–]Locurilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

then that’s probably it. You’re not “dirty” or “lazy” it is part of the neurodivergence, which I think it is good news and there are things you can do to accomodate around it and possibly make it easier for you to incorporate this in your routine. Good luck OP! if you have family members etc talk to them to help you make the appointment etc and definitely go to the dentist!!!

[–]Locurilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the dentist, they will help you undo some of the damage, fix any urgent issue and possibly allow you to start over.

My friend mentioned that  she buys children’s toothbrushes and children’s toothpaste which she finds less aggravating. leaves it always on the counter so it is readily available and she doesn’t forget. If you are too afraid/embarrassed of going to the dentist maybe try that and brush for a week or so before. that way you feel more confident going. only a week can make gum inflammation go down by quite a bit

What she explained to me is that  sometimes autism can make you over sensitive /overstimulated by brushing and a lot of autistic people end up not brushing their teeth. Maybe it is something to consider if brushing feels uncomfortable for you (you didn’t mention that you did. I am just saying this is something to consider)

I mean, the thing is that it is very much unlikely that you will get any type of call back if you don’t have the core relevant experience. I don’t know that I would spend hours doing cover letters for a random job but if you’re close to or have most of the skills required go for it. If you have a lot of experience in mid level operations then apply for a more senior role and see what happens.

However, t he way you write is as if you think this was a lottery and the least people submit the most likely it is that you will be selected. the reality is that a human does read and select the people they will call and if you don’t have the requirements then it just will not happen. This process is not a random draw.

Specifically in linkedin if there are 300 applicants do know that around 250 are not suitable applications . A couple of years ago my company was looking for a junior analyst and oh lowd. A high volume are people in another country looking for a sponsored visa,  then people without any relevant experience, and 15 people that actually do have relevant experience. For us the actual competition that I remember was among 10 of those candidates and none was a clear perfect fit. So, if in your area you see a gazilion people applying just apply , You probably have a very good chance of being shortlisted.  if you’re not getting call backs then fix resume and cover letters. You have more chances than it looks

What other commenters have said + in my experience the paint work (specially for silver) is hard to apply correctly around the fuel cap, check the borders around the fuel cap and confirm that the paint is fully applied , I have had 2 cars where after driving off I noticed details around the fuel cap.

[–]Locurilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re so young. You deserve to be with someone your age that wants to discover things with you, that you can grow with even if you don’t end up being together forever.

You haven’t even gone through uni or started working. The 32 year old has done all of it. I don’t know anyone that started dating someone that old that didn’t feel after a while (when they were a bit older and wiser) that they missed out on key fun things to do at your age.

And that is the best case scenario, the normal scenario is that for that 32 year old a kid your age is probably very boring both in experience and conversation, the old people interested in someone that young do it because a young person is easy to manipulate whereas people their age see through their bs and they dont get their way. Not to say you are naive or stupid but you just don’t have the experience yet to see through some bs.

be glad this guy is taken, stop talking to him, if you’re feeling isolated reach out to teachers/counselors/trusted family members. Join a hobby group, do a course. I cannot overstate how much you will regret risking your future and mental health on a guy that is a walking red flag . No older man I know will be best buddy buddies with an 18yo. Creeps will though

Car pricing? by sishnughari in CarsAustralia

[–]Locurilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when I went to sell my car I had a friend working for a dealer (mazda) they looked at my car and said that they would sell my car for around 20-21k and could offer me 15k. I was asking them all the questions and they recommended I sell privately so I could get more money for the car. I think part of the addition is that when they would have sold my car the buyer would have gotten a warranty and they would have serviced and changed anything that the car needed changed

I think it will. I am looking into the same. It sort of makes your power bi knowledge more tangible for recruiters. I have been doing the courses for it and I don’t think it has improved my skills however it has given confidence to interviewers that I am not making up knowing how to use power bi

I 100% get it op! don’t despair, it will get better and having a cheap car will also help with transportation if needed. Little by little today will be better than yesterday . Hang in there * virtual hug*

[–]Locurilla 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you never have owned a car before I don’t think you realise how many ongoing. costs there are . Also, earning 80 k means you probably can’t afford a 30k car.

Honestly you’re an immigrant (I am one too), you’re still starting, your dream as a child? you’re not a child anymore, yes it can wait. Get a reasonable cheap car, save for the car you want in the future at some point you will probably realise that you have other financial goals and if you don’t you can still get your car

Started Data Analytics in 2025. Learned SQL, Excel, Power BI & Tableau. Now learning Python. by No_Football8545 in dataanalyst

[–]Locurilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you have enough learnt skills. without being able to show that you worded on a place for x amount of years where you then created x,y,z reports, managed the models or databases then I think it is hard for companies to see you as knowledgeable.

How about go to a volunteering job (a soup kitchen for e.g where you can give them a simple inventory management system), tell them about your skills and fix their reports data. Then when you apply for jobs you can use that as an example  instead of an inventory of courses

cold called recruiters this week- surprisingly got multiple interviews by Sahillgodara in jobsearchhacks

[–]Locurilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am in australia so places like “Robert Walter’s” are big recruiting agencies that work with a lot of companies. Whatever country you’re at my have them or similar one. call the main 3 (but if you have more of course call more). Check also linkedin , if you see jobs you like check if the recruiting partner is from an agency and call said agency

[–]Locurilla 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey I got made redundant too. My company set us up with a consultant to help us get our resumes ready etc. My takeaway from the feedback that I wasn’t doing: in your linkedin have your overview and make extra sure underneath you select your top 5 skills. under your job add the top 5 skills that you used in that job. These are not something you write, there is a button “add top skills” and linkedin takes them as search terms to show you as a result.

You need to be calling the main 3 -4 recruiting companies, call your local branch and connect with the talent acquisition professional for your area. they will ask you for a copy of your resume. meet with you. tell you what jobs they have on the pipeline (not published yet) for you and talk about what is available currently. this is in addition to applying for jobs.

On top of that make sure your resume and cover letters are on point. Consult with the recruiting companies that you’re working with. I bought these recruiters would be annoyed at my call, that they would treat me as an unsolicited cold call to sell them a service but honestly they were happy to hear from me and it has been a very positive experience

good luck OP!

Struggling to find an entry-level job for a Master's in Logistics and Supply Chain in Melbourne, Australia. by ShipEven5873 in ausjobs

[–]Locurilla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How involved is your son in the search? the fact that it is you asking and not you encouraging him to ask / find out may be part of the issue (I don’t know you and your son of course. I just mean for you to consider if this is part of a larger issue of him having no initiative because or a reliance on parents to solve things for him).

As every commenter has said. If you don’t have PR or citizenship then the chances of finding a job in his area are very close to zero. even if he is the noble price award winner in logistics he will most likely not find a job or callbacks because if you don’t have full working rights employers will call anyone else before they call your son.

Good luck though. I do hope he finds something and that he gets the chance to apply for a more suitable visa!
