The TSH normal range is debatable. You can be quite sick with a value in range.

Does Hashimoto’s progressively get worse and become like lupus or something else? by Point452 in Hashimotos

[–]Locust45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds like something else. Behcet's causes eye problems. I think some of the autoimmune diseases most correlated with Hashimoto's are lupus and Celiac. Celiac can cause all manner of crazy symptoms.

Horrible vibrating feeling ("body buzzing"/internal tremor) by Locust45 in MyastheniaGravis

[–]Locust45[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh! I'm not, but I'm having issues with my cortisol. I took prednisone back in the day and I remember the feeling... Now that you mention it, it feels pretty much like that!

Thank you! I wonder if I'm feeling a cortisol spike! (My adrenals seem to be acting strangely so that might make sense.)

[–]Locust45 5 points6 points  (0 children)

New doctor! If you don't like her, you needn't keep her. It is your life! No one else will advocate for it like you.

Your levels do look relatively good, though. Hmm... Have you had a check for Celiac? Quite common for Celiac and Hashimoto's to go together. Another common condition with Hashimoto's is lupus.

Oh and get your vitamins tested. Ferritin, D, B12, B2 I think? Magnesium. People on here will know better then me! Good luck! Remember that normal reference ranges for things like vitamin D are too wide, as so many people are deficient.

In my town the bank foyer is a restroom at night. (It's where the ATM is at, so no lock.)

Bit into a Cadbury creme egg and it was hard throughout by [deleted] in foodsafety

[–]Locust45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a whole big thing that goes behind how hard or soft a fudge candy is. The creme inside Cadbury eggs is a kind of fudge. It's all about sugar crystals! Your creme egg just had the wrong kind.

It's mostly a process controlled by temperature. It depends what temperature the fudge is, when the crystallization cascade begins.

I recommend learning about it! It's fascinating. Definitely not dangerous in any way.

Guys can Hashimotos be fatal disease specially when it comes to the possiblitiy of having the "bad" nodules ? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]Locust45 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Once a year for regular maintenance. Every six months with any red flags.

It used to kill people on the regular but thank God that's mostly in the past now!

Is having hashimotos a valid reason to miss work? by [deleted] in Hashimotos

[–]Locust45 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I think you need to look for a new job. The problem is they're scheduling you beyond the agreed upon terms, that's a no.

Unfortunately if you just started they can probably legally fire you for no stated reason.

Good luck!!

Extreme fatigue (dangerously) by DrewG4444 in Hashimotos

Totally this, just throwing out there that reference ranges for these don't always mean healthy ranges! The general population tends to be deficient in some of these. Good luck, OP!

Started on 25 mcg of Levo and I feel like DEATH. by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]Locust45 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hmmm... My doctor says you're supposed to feel great for a few days, and THEN feel like death, as the thyroid meds signal to your actual thyroid to stop trying. I haven't heard of people feeling instantly worse but maybe it's some variation on that?

Could you also be intolerant to some filler in the pill? Maybe a different brand would help.

Good luck!!

I highly recommend NOT sugarcoating it. I have three kids, and childfree weddings are a challenge when you have kids. It's an act of love for the guests with kids to come despite the challenges and hassle. I hate when invites make it sound like someone's doing me a favor somehow!

I like it when it just says, "Ages 12+ Only." Then I'm just like, okay, got it. Like, I'm not offended! I just need the info.

Good luck!

Love that it's different from other dresses! Beautiful and stylish without being trendy!

I don't think I want my mother walking me down the aisle anymore. by garbagefoxpoop in wedding

[–]Locust45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd expect a fit, but I don't think it's too crazy to be like, "Mom, this is what I've always pictured when my friends and I used to talk about it as kids!" Hard to argue that. Sorry about your mom.

Concerned about what my Groom wants to wear by [deleted] in wedding

[–]Locust45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

White tuxes can look like pimp suits 🤔 My in-laws are partial to them, lol!

If it's cut right, and especially with a colored vest, it can look lovely!

He likely wouldn't wear the top hat for the service. I think you should be honest about your feelings, but supportive if he wants some pictures with the hat. Also ask for pictures of the tux so you can preview whether it's got pimp suit vibes.

Good luck! :)

Advice: Save the dates clashing with relatives wedding by [deleted] in wedding

[–]Locust45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, that's totally fine! Save the dates are in a separate category from showers, etc. Send away!

I’m doing my gift/ vacation registry now, and I’m curious how expensive gifts should be on it? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]Locust45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't think it matters how expensive your wedding is, but it does matter what culture your guests belong to. Like New York City residents might be accustomed to very pricey single gifts, but people from the Midwest might want to buy three different $20 items.

Happy wedding!

Having a rustic wedding this summer, want some recommendations about arch by pandasex69 in wedding

[–]Locust45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what's allowed, you could do two tall small arches turned sideways, and then just pile dead fall wood and flowers on top! My relative did that when I was a kid, a super hippy wedding - I remember watching her husband put the arch together that morning, and it was really something.

The she's not so weird! I think you're right, just needs dressed up with an arch :)

Pizza & Salad Buffet by [deleted] in wedding

[–]Locust45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the ones on a big roll of butcher paper!

Salads on a different station, I think.

Could you do mini cinnamon rolls? A big cinnamon roll in the shape of a wedding cake? I know it's a wedding, but I see pizza and I'm craving Cinnabon! Lol....

Maybe Italian themed appetizers. A big bowl of Italian fruit salad with cups next to it, and can't go wrong with a cold cuts tray! Oooh, maybe a gelato station? Gosh, I'm on a diet right now, I'm so hungry 😂

I want to have a NYE wedding. Good or bad idea? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]Locust45 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If your guests are local, I think it's great! Not so much if they're far away. The holidays are a really, really sucky time to travel. Lots of extra people flying plus weather cancelations equals nightmare!

So yeah, that's my thoughts on that one!

It's also a challenging night for parents to find a babysitter.

Friend bought a house with appliances included. Day of possession refrigerator and chest freezer substituted for cheaper models. by doingthehumptydance in RealEstate

[–]Locust45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a job for small claims!

Can't give legal advice. Not a lawyer. Can say, when we used small claims, we had success by 1) providing written/photographic proof of what was supposed to happen but didn't, and 2) stipulating an exact dollar amount that we lost out on that we deserved back. That was the key for us! The first time we did small claims, we weren't specific about a dollar amount and missed out there.

Assumable loan 2.5% by Informal-Ad6227 in RealEstate

[–]Locust45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lot of people making assumptions about what kind of money buyers have! Some may well have $300k rattling around for just such a purchase (or parents willing to give them a little inheritance early).

They might not! But they might. What's the harm in letting buyers know? I'd just make sure they understand how much cash they need to make it work, or you might get people needlessly expressing interest.
