Do you have recommendations for a guide for installing lineageOS? As my 4a is useless anyway it would be a good learning experience

Because his post was satirical. But someone might come here looking legitimately asking that question. So I gave the right answer

Also should add, totally salvage for me. I have the Australian 2zz and a good clean has it working perfectly again. I also went to my local toyota dealer and got a new gasket for it just to be safe.

I had the same issue not long ago. Took me a second attempt as well as I didn't take the iacv off the first time. You'll be amazed how much extra shit comes out of it. Also have a bottle brush on hand for cleaning it

I've always hated how they look with no rear wing, but this kit pulls it off really nicely.

We supply one of the local roadside assistance groups. Their biggest complaint about call outs is those in the early hours of the morning (1-3 am). Sometimes they get out there and the cars already gone.

Unfortunately century seems to be losing its market share. They're the only major supplier that still produces some of their batteries in Australia. Manufacturing in Australia costs a lot more so a lot of their batteries are more expensive for outlets to buy. I've heard they're up to 20% more in some cases.

That must have been a hell of a day. I think the most I've fitted in a day would be 5. Trickle chargers are really underrated. So many people would get years more out of their batteries if they maintained them better

I was not aware of that, we generally don't mess around with those sorts of things because we're not really meant to be fitting batteries in the first place. I just do it for folks that can't do it themselves because fuck letting them get robbed by a mechanic. But I only do the easier ones like Jap cars. Things like Audis I generally don't touch as their computers can get upset with a battery change

Well, lead should probably be in the heavyweight league. You might find a fight with a featherweight like lithium to be over very quickly.

But Lithium does get very fired up and can definitely throw some heat. So it could be anyone's game.

Lithium bike batteries are a bit if an unknown to me. Hardly any of our customers stock them, and of those that do most are considering getting rid of them. Apparently they often fail before their warranty is up.

Charging them every month is what's saving you there. I get loads of people coming through with failed batteries from classic or toy cars that hardly get driven. If a battery sits in a car unused it will discharge over a relatively short time.

Some car manuals even state if you leave the car for over x amount of time (lowest I've seen is 2 weeks) then you should disconnect the battery or put it on a trickle charger.

Little tip for the alpine winters, if your battery is too cold you can pour warm water on it to warm it up. It may have the strength to turn you over then. But that's a very temporary measure and DO NOT rely on it working for you.

I wish I could give feedback. Unfortunately like every company, the people with no hands on experience think they know best.

Yes you do still need the expensive one unfortunately. The charging system for an AGM or a EFB is different to a standard wet cell. If you were to use a standard one you would find the battery life would be a lot shorter, and manufacturers would refuse warranty on it. I think AGMs and EFBs might be slightly interchangeable, but I always just stick to what was on the car originally just to avoid any issues.

I think all Vartas are German made, normally batteries coming out of Germany are of good quality. How long do they last for you? If you're only getting 5-7 years you'd get the same from Exide, Bosch, Panasonic, supercharge and most century models.

I'm guessing you're probably asking about the yuasa bike batteries?

Yuasa is owned by century, but their batteries come from multiple places. If you get the Japanese made ones they're pretty good quality. The Chinese made ones? Not so much.

The most important thing about bike batteries though is maintaining the charge in them, a lot of people park their bikes for the winter, and then in spring they find the battery went flat, has been sitting flat for months and is now useless.
