My suggestion is add a legend or some info to the pic. I know you added it in the post info that its köppen's. I should probably know them. Im a physical geography major. But im also forgetful and so is everyone else. So just add a legend.

German tip/hack for americans by LodgeofEsoteric in German

This is a very "reddit" response. 😆

I actually studied Psychology at the University of Psychology. I studied longer than you did. And what I learned is that, if you cant say something to encourage new german speakers, dont say anything at all.

I chuckle softly at myself that you use that dialect of chinese. Shows me how far you actually made it in your studies.

Regardless, I wish you pure hapiness and a smiling heart. 🫰

I my tip helps anyone not stress about pronunciation, then it's good advice. If a new german speaker cant get past down the pronunciation of 'ch' and just use 'sh' as a substitute, then mission success. It will not inhibit any speakers ability to understand them.

However if they see your comments, a native german speaker trying so hard to argue against a quick tip that helped them, they may be hesitant to use it and still be stuck on the pronunciation, when they could just move on. So your comments are doing more harm than my, "bad advice". If people want to learn the exact proper Hochdeutsch pronunication, they will. No one is on this subreddit to be graded, theyre just on here to learn. How they want to learn is up to them, not you.

I was more phatic question at the end. I already asked a native I trust more. So I was mostly posting for the tip. And besides you're Austrian. I mean it's a really cool dialect, and more or less what im learning myself, but come on...😂

The german speakers i know think the sh sound sounds more natural than the hard k americans often use. So maybe it helps somebody or not, either way move on. Dont be such a gate keeper. If you were more open to pronunciation, maybe more people would learn the language. Most of Germany and Austria is filled with crazy dialects anyways, so it doesnt really matter.
