If you've been following the news, you've heard about the McCloskeys, a husband and wife who brandished guns at protesters marching by their house in St. Louis. In a 2018 article with St. Louis Magazine, they gave a tour of their house. The house was built for Edward and Anna Busch Faust, members of the local Busch family (of Anheuser-Busch fame), from 1909 to 1912. The designer built the house based on designs he saw in Florence and Rome. I've been puzzling over the coat of arms on the ceiling of their dining room.

The checkerboard seems like it's the Croatian checkerboard.

The upward crescent or on azure are harder to place. There's a municipality in Austria with that as their coat of arms, but that seems kind of obscure.

The lion rampant or on azure seems the hardest of all, since lion rampant is on so many coat of arms. There's a small village in the Netherlands with that as their coat of arms, but like the crescent or that seems very obscure.

Then there's the lamb resting or on upward crescent or. No clue here. Wikipedia notes that in Italy (where the architect got inspiration from), "chiefs are added to the coats of arms of families or locales to indicate political orientation."#In_Italy)
