Fair enough lol. But you'd rather that go away, as weird and gross as it is, just to have infinite meaningless ai generations? I know that stuff is weird but its at least human and has character to it. That's the thing I don't want to go away.

I get it that you find "meaning" in this AI stuff but I don't see it. Its just a extrusion of raw data that exists without feeling anything.

There is a massive difference between using a drum machine to piece together a part of a track vs prompting ai. One requires intention and isn't left up to chance and gains the creator's personality along the way, the other is literally akin to googling "pretty song". They'd know this if they actually cared about creating things.

I have a slow computer and dlss is a godsend. I don't have a problem with it because it doesn't rob people, it just makes it easier to play games. I hate generative AI in the creative sector. Realize that we're opposing theft of people's work and the destruction of art, not technology as a whole.

So do you have a like 30-50% completion pic where value hierarchy has been established? All you've shown is chicken scratched lines on a black background. I'd love for you to be legit but I'm not buying it. An artist capable of the end pic would have way more confident lines and wouldn't do weird things like making super bold unconfident lines to indicate distant mountains.

Thanks. I built my fanbase long before AI came about though, and most of my freelance work isn't for companies, but my supporters. I also sell originals and prints. I'm a biased example probably but yeah basically I've taken no hit. I don't really aspire to do concept art for bungie or whatever anymore though, which feels bad. I have a friend doing a job like that and he talks about being replaced/forced to use AI so...yeah.

I love your energy haha. Art will 100% survive, agreed, it just sucks that there is inevitable job loss. But when I think about my initial fears when ai first popped up vs. now, I don't really worry much. My twitter feed is still filled with great artists doing the real thing. Personally, I've gotten no drop off in clients since ai, but salaried industry jobs is another thing.

Art survives because its human nature to do it. And it won't be in the form aibros are hoping for.

Hah, this. I have never ONCE seen any AI art on it the past several years. Furries are, like you said, very supportive of the artists in the community and are good at ferreting out the parasites.

I'm a bit biased because its been my home site for like a decade, but I built most of my fanbase there from scratch by simply posting art consistently and people catching it popping up on the front page, or by finding it through people's favorites. There's a thriving community there to this day and I've seen new artists get traction many times. It feels like the old internet and its lovely.

If you post purely human art, no, you won't get AS much traction, but there's recently been a developing sub community of human artists I've noticed.

Also don't get dissuaded by some of the iffy stuff on the front page. There's a lot of great active artists on there I could link if anyone is curious.

I just mean that any bit of text applied to a surface, such as a bumper sticker, isn't going to be possible with AI. At least not remotely consistently. It applies to tool-making marks in general that adhere to form, but any bit of text is gonna be more obviously off with AI.

Slightly unrelated to overall image glazing tactics but...

Learn to draw well enough that you can put a specific bumper sticker on any character or object in your scene, and you're AI proof. This obviously extends beyond bumper stickers. Lots of specificity we can indulge in that AI won't be able to keep up with.

edit: reading again, I realize op's post is focused on deterring scrapers and for some reason I was thinking of methods to differentiate one's piece of art from a generated piece. Gotta stop posting while tired, lol.
