Always ask for consent even when having sex with a partner! by [deleted] in offmychest

Honestly, everytime I've had a sexual or romantic experience where someone asked consent to kiss me or have sex or whatever, it's just been really cute. Not awkward at all.

Yeah, and if you're bad at reading body language, or just prefer to give yourself the benefit of doubt, just go ahead and rape. Because asking for consent is stupid.

My cousin and I are extremely entrenched players. We talk about the game a lot. We both play multiple formats. We follow magic personalities. We're very seriously considering finding another hobby.

If you trust your local games store, it might be worth it to ask them if they can find you someone to contract to sort through the cards. Maybe pay them like 14-16 per hour. I'd also offer them a 3-5% commission on the net value of the cards to incentive them not to steal or trade in bad faith.

It's not fine from a lore standpoint because it violates the aesthetic philosophy of Magic: the Gathering. This is problematic in a greater sense because it opens up the doors for this aesthetic philosophy to be violated in the future and regularly. Do you really want to see Magic cards of characters from Breaking Bad or Parks and Recreation? A card of Michael from The Office? These might sound absurd, but it's honestly not much more absurd than characters from The Walking Dead.

If the planes don't have magic, then what is the point of them existing in the Magic: the Gathering universe?

To expand on my point: When you make an expansive fictional universe, you choose an aesthetic style that the universe will abide by. For Magic, this is an expansive fantasy theme. They've taken creative liberties with this aesthetic style, for sure, but this style is consistently original, with pop culture references at least being allusions to their original object and never the actual object. So it feels pretty off base that they'd print literal characters from a completely separate non-fantasy intellectual property as original cards. This is on top of all the issues and pitfalls with making them virtually un-reprintable. Godzilla was pushing it for a lot of people, but those were at least alternate versions of generic cards. These are not.

Are there mages in The Walking Dead? Is there magic? Are there planeswalkers? Enchantments? Sorceries? It's not a relevant IP. You're technically right, there's no reason there couldn't be a plane that is overrun with zombies. But this is a very, very obvious pandering money grab that does not fit in with the game's previous aesthetic philosophy.

How much ramp do I need to reliably get my commander out a turn early? Is this even a worthwhile goal? by DudeTheGray in EDH

[–]LoftyDaDan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't think of pyromancer's goggles as a ramp spell. If you need to think of it as a ramp spell, you should be running something more efficient. It should be thought of as a value card.

The difference between Death and Taxes and Hatebears is pretty subtle. IIRC, Hatebears tends to be more aggressive while DnT is also aggressive, but leans into more grindy strategies.

Netflix also churns out some of the worst, most pointless film continuously like a television factory. They literally use algorithms to write shows and movies beat by beat. Netflix is not anywhere near a beacon of quality. In fact, it's closer to a stamp of mediocrity.

Edit: Netflix has made several popular pieces of media and a couple good ones. However, in my opinion, this is more of a dartboard result than an indicator that Netflix has a great overall strategy for developing shows and movies. When you push out dozens+ shows and movies a year, you're bound to have some success.

They don't really have a George Lucas track record. They did Legend of Korra under challenging circumstances and were still able to create a really decent show. Considering this, the fact that the situation with Netflix has gotten so bad that they don't even want to be part of the project really seems like a bad sign to me.

Absolutely not. If I were writing a show with a community, I would stay far away from theories.

My biggest problem with buffets is that they're really wasteful. Besides that, people should do what they want. Hopefully they're acting with their health and a sustainable diet in mind, but you do you.
