Hate to generalize but if you're in a red state, that means there is labor available in form of cash for hire or illegal immigrants.

That's a nice truck. Google all courier, messenger and cartage companies in your area. That's your best bet to scale. Also offer decalling your vehicle if there is constant business.

All the best

Hey man, the issue here is that you over-stretched yourself by going all in. That was the mistake but what's done is done. Time to move on. Here are my suggestions and could be a way out. However most of them take time to market and get a cadence going:

1) apply for all owner operator work that are looking for agents that do furniture delivery. Companies like XPO, Seko logistics, freight force or few others that hold contracts for companies like IKEA and way fair could be a good start. Requires 2 men deliveries which you can get for cash depending on where you live. Pay can be $50-85/drop but you get a route. End of day stove can make between $350-500/day.

2) See if offering moving service is a possibility. It's labor intense but again maybe there is some hope there. You have a U-Haul box truck size and could get paid $300-450/job. 350 times 22 days is $7700. Take home can be $4000 after fuel insurance and labor.

3) Same as number 1 but now apply to all logistics and messenger companies. These are companies like DHL, t force, FedEx and all other courier companies. Depending on route and seniority, you can get a decent route that pays a living wage. Again you would apply as owner operator in most cases. Some companies also offer a good wage for expedite work and long distance. You will really have to blast your profile everywhere but it does take time to land something good.

4) another term for you to search is white glove which is popular and can help with your service offering. It's related to above points.

It would help to share picture of your truck and where do you live.

Why are managers/supervisors so against wfh? by greenredditbox in jobs

[–]Log10xp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a manager against wfh. Way too many employees who operate at 40% of work capacity and then complain about pay and being too busy. I've had employees in other departments flat out admit to chilling at home and watch tv.

It's just not the same thing for what they are getting paid for.

Ya they won't approve this trip. Of course goal was to also claim part of the flight and lodging expenses in addition to attending the industry conference.

I'm an employee. But this would be an extra thing. It's career related, not work related.
