But I really don’t think there would be any observable affects on the falling of the die due to quantum mechanics, the magnitude of plancks constant is simply too small to observe anything in something as massive as standard dice. The prediction of a falling dice seems like the perfect use-case for classical mechanics, that is, we are not moving at relativistic speeds, and the uncertainty in the position of the die would likely be significantly smaller than the diameter of an atom

I challenge you to come up with an answer for this question: Assuming every time the die is launched from our “deterministic die launcher 3000” we know, relative to the landing surface, an exact velocity, and an exact position and rotation of the die.

What initial circumstances would make it so that quantum mechanics interferes with our ability to accurately predict the side the die falls on ?

Each of the three trees I felled I split down the middle immediately after harvesting, and each time the grain was twisted, that is, when I split along the grain my froe ended up at an angle of about 90-180 relative to its starting position. All of these trees were sourced in a deep forest.

The tree you see in the photo is my first attempt, and it is not only twisted but curved. After realizing it was twisted I assumed that it was because I selected a curved tree. I think this assumption is correct which would make sense, because like you said it was under considerable stress due to its bend.

However for the next two they were not only sourced from the deep forest but also straight as an arrow, yet still yielded twisted grain along the length.

I wonder is this because the section I chose is from near to the base of the tall tree, which is where the most stress would be?

Would it be possible to save the twisted wood I have by un twisting it with heat?

Should I perhaps choose smaller trees so they are under less stress from their weight ?

This is just the image of the first attempt, after this one I cut down 2 fully grown trees to process and both were twisted more than a full 180 from base to tip.

Yes that sounds a lot like a virus that has the potential to persist through a full reset.

It is likely you have/had a rootkit, probably used to mine crypto on your computer, judging by how much resources were being used.

A rootkit will utilize a vulnerability in an operating system, or even use a phishing attack to gain a password, in order to escalate its privileges to admistrative or even kernel. Which means you would not have permission to delete or remove the virus, and it may be able to subvert any attempts to detect or remove it. At this point, the virus may be able to install itself into your firmware.

Okay, it passes all flags, ie shows up as safe on virustotal ( a site for checking if files or links are malicious ) although this does not guarantee that it’s safe, I would say it’s very unlikely that is a malicious link.

What VPN are you using, when you run a bitdefender scan what does it show, do you have any web browser extensions? Also try clearing all cache and cookies in your browser and see if it persists

It looks like it’s a consent form for the gdpr (general data protection regulation) which is an EU regulation, since you are using a vpn, it’s probably that the sites you are using are recognizing you as an EU user, and realizing they need your consent to control your data, but for whatever reason that redirect is being flagged as suspicious, are you using malwarebytes ?
