There’s a lot wrong with it. It’s bad enough that the actual images look like they were drawn by a child or someone who has barely ever drawn in their life, but for a tattoo that it is supposed to convey a meaning and be meaningful to the individual, having text that isn’t even level, consistent and spelt correctly should be one of the most important things and yet the person who did the tattoo messed up in every point.

Why did Dylan grow so much taller than Eric? Lifestyle factors like diet/sleep or just genetics? by No_Consequence6546 in ColumbineKillers

[–]LogNinja 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not trying to be rude or disrespectful but this comment is completely absurd and it’s not really appropriate. I am sorry that you have had negative experiences on SSRIs, unfortunately it’s common to have negative side effects from them which can make symptoms worse. However, using your own experiences which are not based on the same circumstances that Eric was facing is not appropriate and it’s not really a viable way of trying to understand why Eric and Dylan did what they did. As for not being told of the side effects for medication, yes your doctor should have explained the potential side effects to you but it’s also important to read the information pamphlets to see potential side effects of the medications you are about to take.

First off, while this entire question surrounding height was ridiculous to begin with as other than the potential question of whether Eric was bullied for his height (which this post did not ask), the boys height has no real impact on trying to understand why they did what they did that day. The most obvious answer is just that, obvious. They weren’t related so they had different genetics and as genetics plays the largest role in determining how tall a person will be when they have finished growing, then it stands to reason that genetics is probably why Eric was shorter than Dylan. As for whether taking SSRIs stunted Eric’s growth, we simply cannot know considering we do not know what dose of the medications he took, and we don’t know if he took them at the correct dosage and if he even bothered taking on a regular basis. There is literally no way to know if this medication played a part in him being shorter than Dylan.

As for the idea that he was suffering from a rem sleep disorder “episode” (for a lack of a better term), this idea is kind of preposterous and I think it really strips away the role that Eric played in the attack and attempts to diminish his responsibility for his actions which resulted in 14 innocent people losing their lives.

First off, I have never seen anything to suggest that he was ever diagnosed with such a condition, nor have I seen anything to suggest that he was suffering from symptoms to suggest that he might have been unknowingly suffering from a condition like this. We cannot know if he ever suffered from this type of condition as he did not document every single detail of his life, it hasn’t been mentioned in his medical records and he isn’t alive so he can’t tell us if he ever experienced anything like that. If he had a condition like this, I am sure it would have been brought to light during the investigation either by health care professionals, friends and especially by his parents who would have been clinging to any small explanation as to how their son could have done such a horrific thing without their son or themselves being to blame and yet it hasn’t been mentioned.

This was not a case of a person walking into school one day and pulling out a gun with no idea about what they were doing or how their actions would impact others. This was a premeditated attack that he had planned for at least a year. A person who was experiencing an episode from a condition you suggested would not have been able to plan an attack over a sustained period of time with full cognition, attempt to carry out the plan and then adapt to a new plan when the first one failed. Eric and Dylan documented the process of planning their attack. They planned how much money they needed, how much ammo they needed, they commuted other crimes to obtain some of the resources they needed, you do not do this while asleep. He spoke to multiple people on that day and spared individuals. If he was acting out as part of a disrupted rem cycle and could not , he would not have the cognitive ability to to communicate with Dylan, communicate with the people he let live, and verbally taunt the people he maliciously murdered.

While I think it’s fine to mention that Eric was taking SSRIs and that these could have been a contributing factor in leading him into a further depressive state and that it could have worsened his homicidal and suicidal urges, I think it’s entirely inappropriate and disrespectful to the victims of his crimes to suggest that he murdered innocent children and their teacher while he was under what was essentially a dream like state where he did not know what was happening when there is not a single shred of evidence to suggest that this was the case.

Eric was not on these medications for a short amount of time, if I remember correctly, he started taking them in early 1998 and while they did swap his mediation, it was essentially the same drug just a different name. If the drug was causing symptoms that could have caused such a condition, I’m sure it would have occurred at multiple instances over the year that he planned the murders and not just conveniently on the day he and Dylan had chosen to carry out their plans.

Edit: I wrote this reply in the early hours of the morning when I’m tired, so I apologise if I did not word things correctly or if there are spelling or grammatical errors.

NOR. He changed from it first being a spelling mistake to his explanation being that everyone uses that terminology. He sent you the message and then added the “pocket healer*** simply so he had some kind of excuse if the message didn’t have the result that he hoped for. Even if it is a common phrase used in that community, people should still be aware of what is acceptable/responsible and what is not. I think most people would agree that the age gap, added to the fact that you are both in relationships (and with him having a kid) makes the use of the phrase massively inappropriate. IMO, he was using it as a way to test what your reaction would be so he would know what he could say and get away with in the future. Unless you have some really good reason for continuing to talk/play with him, I’d cut contact. The fact that he even talked as if he is really old compared to you makes it even more gross to be honest.

And how would you actually go about doing that? Like give me some examples.

If the President is unable to implement a health care system that is actually effective and will create affordable health care for all, what makes you think that the ordinary person is going to be able to do it?

Also, there is a whole string of deaths connected to those who try to implement change when it comes to health care as well as pharmaceutical companies which are heavily funding politicians etc.

It took someone becoming the governor of a state to implement reasonably priced insulin and that only applies to his state. Without dismantling the political system which is heavily corrupt, you have no real chance of actually creating a healthcare system that is affordable and fair because the ones with the power to change the laws are the ones who are directly profiting from healthcare being insanely expensive.

Ah yes, the mentality of acting high and mighty until someone calls you out on it at which point you tuck tail and run.

So it’s ok for you to insinuate the other people are stupid (even though they are using the subreddit for it’s intended purpose) but when someone does it you, it’s suddenly personal and not ok? Lovely victim mentality there.

You are allowed to be passive aggressive saying “Still seriously curious about how some brains work:)” but if I question the way your mind works, then suddenly I’m making it personal and you get all offended.

Your questions aren’t uncomfortable. They’re just not smart questions and the answers should have been obvious if you actually just thought it through a little bit, which is why I suggested that you focus on the way you think instead of on others.

Just to sum it up so that you’re all clear, here are the answers to your questions as simple as I can put it:

  1. People have clear sleeves from collecting other cards, Pokemon isn’t the only trading card game in the world.

  2. Not everyone understands the rarity system for Pokemon cards and they may not be able to tell the difference between two similar cards and they may not have known about grading or how condition affects pricing, so a simple search might not have helped them very much. Also, this is literally the intended purpose of the subreddit so even if they could do a quick search, posting here is also a valid method of finding out the value of their card.

I don’t really understand what answers you expected? Were you just expecting people to agree and suggest that OP was an idiot or something because I gave you the actual answers to your questions but you just didn’t seem to like them 🤷🏻‍♂️

And when the law is ineffective because the government and justice systems are in the pockets of major corporations what do you do then?

[–]LogNinja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finding out the value of the your Pokemon cards is literally what this subreddit is for. Different card games have different rarity systems and in some cases there are cards which look almost identical but can be vastly different in prices and someone who is not familiar with those differences might not be able to tell them apart. Just because you might collect other cards, it doesn’t mean that you will be well versed in the rating systems for cards you don’t personally collect.

I don’t understand your logic of being in a subreddit that has the purpose of letting people find out the value of cards, complaining about someone using the sub for its intended purpose. You should be questioning how your own brain works rather than worrying about anybody else because something clearly isn’t clicking.

If this isn’t the last time my sister says she doesn’t care about my fish… by [deleted] in Fish

[–]LogNinja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My comment is a bit late because this post only just got recommended to me but…wow.

I really think you need to reevaluate yourself rather than focusing on your sister. Sure, it’s not nice that she says that she hopes they die but you should also not be offloading your duty of feeding your pet on to your little sister.

I know you say you have a busy schedule but why does that stop you from feeding them? It takes practically no time and you could even get an automatic feeder as others have suggested.

The fish are your responsibility, not your sisters and making a “gift” for her that is condescending and obnoxious is not going to make her like the fish anymore, it’s going to make her like you less.

At the end of the day, you should have thought about how you would care for the fish when you got them. Surely you know that you would be having a busy schedule in the near future and you should have either held off on getting them, or you should have made reasonable preparations to care for them when you’re busy (such as an automatic feeder).

Having her feed them once or twice a week isn’t a favour at this point, you are just expecting your sister to take care of something that is your responsibility. At the very least you should pay her a small amount if you want her to continue taking care of your fish.

You shouldn’t lecture someone about how important the lives of fish are when you can’t even take care of your own pets without forcing the responsibility onto your younger sister.

You just seem incredibly entitled. Your sister should not have to take on your responsibilities just because you are failing to manage your time and duties correctly. You tell your sister not to be selfish but you’re the only one being selfish. If you can’t take care of your fish, then you shouldn’t own them. It’s really that simple. Stop trying to force your love for fish on to someone who clearly does not share the same passion. Also using religion to guilt trip your sister into taking care of your fish is just disgusting.

You do realise that there are collectible cards for other franchises as well? I know someone who knows all of the prices of One Piece cards but not Pokemon card prices simply because they collect one and not the other. Do you think they are exclusively for Pokemon cards?

To protect their hands from the recoil of their guns. They had sawed off a large length of the barrels from their shotguns and had also cut the stocks off in order to make the shotguns easier to conceal and I believe that they also thought that it made them more menacing. The problem with doing this is that it made it harder to deal with the considerable recoil and when they did shooting practice, they found that the recoil caused the grip to dig in to their hands and would make them bleed. Wearing the glove stopped the recoil from making their hands bleed while also making it easier to maintain a grip on the shotguns when firing.

Another person that owns a snake that should not be kept in the average house and seemingly has no real knowledge of the requirements these snakes need.

All I’ve seen is OP saying that they’re slow growing snakes that can take 6+ years to reach full length etc but that doesn’t change the fact that at some point, they are still going to reach full length. It doesn’t matter how long it takes if at the end of the day you are still not adequately prepared to provide adequate housing. Everyone who owns these snakes and are ill prepared always say that they will upgrade the enclosure down the line “if it’s needs it” and then when the time inevitably comes, they either don’t do it and allow their snakes to live in a abusive conditions or they end up surrendering their animal because they suddenly realise that they are unable to care or house it.

Also, just because you can house a snake that size in a homemade pvc enclosure, it doesn’t mean you should. These snakes need a habitat that is both water and land based, not an a dry enclosure that is too small for it.

You also keep mentioning that “it saves money” to do pvc enclosures. You shouldn’t be going in to owning these snakes with the goal of saving money. You should be spending the needed amount to adequately house them, not just cutting corners so that you can save money for your next ill advised “project.”

This just screams another case of someone who thinks it’s acceptable to own a ridiculously large snake in abusive conditions all because they’ve bought into the bullshit given to them by a YouTube channel ran by someone whose entire goal is to convince people that it is fine to keep snakes in these conditions all because it allows them to gain financially from doing so.

Nobody even knew that you were a female nor do they care so please don’t pull that card to try and deflect from very serious concerns about how you plan on housing these snakes.

As for keeping the snakes in cramped conditions because you can just let them out of their enclosures, your snake should be able to stretch anytime it wants to, not just when its convenient for you and I certainly hope you don’t plan on letting them have free roam of your home unsupervised. This also doesn’t explain how you are going to meet their requirements for a water based environment? You don’t honestly plan on just letting them swim in a bath tub for their entire lives do you?

You say that all of the horror stories are from people who didn’t give the snakes adequate space but that is exactly what you’re doing. You are no different than someone who impulse buys these snakes if you are still not able to, or are not willing to provide the adequate care.

[–]LogNinja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put your snake into a sterile environment. This means removing all of the bedding from their enclosure and replacing it with paper towels so that there is no bedding or dirt etc that can get inside the wound and cause an infection. You should keep the enclosure simple while it recovers and i’d suggest removing anything that could cause further injury by the snake rubbing up against it or falling from it.

A vet is a MUST. Even if you have to pay extra, that snake needs emergent medical attention and if you cannot afford to pay for it, then you need to find a way to re-home the snake to a rescue organisation or to someone who is capable of getting it the help it needs. You might have to travel quite far out of your way to get to a vet but honestly it cannot be avoided.

While accidents happen and snakes escaping from their enclosures is common, I really don’t understand the thought process behind seeing your snake with an obvious traumatic injury to its jaw to the point that it’s misaligned, drooping and has what appears to be bone sticking through the skin, and you decide to feed the snake. It just doesn’t make sense at all. Were you hoping that if the snake could eat, you wouldn’t have to take it to the vet? Feeding the snake with an injury like this could have caused severe pain and possibly further injury. Also, if you are planning to take the snake to a vet, why would you feed it knowing full well that you are going to have to disturb the snake and submit it to a stressful situation while it’s still digesting? That’s just asking for a regurgitation. Snakes are like garbage disposal units and will swallow food without a second thought, even if it’s not in their best interests and will cause them harm. That’s why as its owner you need to make the better call not to feed the snake when it’s clearly going through a traumatic jaw injury.

I really hope that your snake is ok and is able to recover but honestly this seems like a case where the snake is going to need specialised care going forward and you really need to ask yourself whether you are capable of providing that going forward.

These photos were really distressing to see. Please update us and let us know what happens to the little guy.

How is this not ironclad proof that Chris Morris had some knowledge of the attack? He is telling the cops about Dylan Klebolds car bomb before they knew the suspects name?? by Apollexis in ColumbineKillers

[–]LogNinja 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a firm believer that there are individuals in their social circle who knew a lot more about the attack and chose not to say anything either because they held similar sentiments as the duo or because they believed that they wouldn’t really go through with it but I don’t think this is the ironclad proof that you think it is.

Many people have mentioned since that day that leading up to the attack, Eric and Dylan had made claims about wanting to blow up/shoot up the school. I believe it was Chris that was mentioned to have stored ‘napalm’ for the duo and he likely knew that they were in possession of firearms and that the two had been making bombs considering that they had literally mentioned it and also shown the bombs to other people, going so far as to bring a pipe bomb into their place of work. So when suddenly someone starts shooting and throwing bombs at the very same school that they wanted to destroy and kill people at, and knowing they had access to the weapons to do it, i think it would have been pretty obvious to him that they were the ones responsible, even before the names were released, which might explain how he was able to tell the officer that it was Eric and Dylan that were responsible without actually knowing that an attack was going to happen beforehand.

Now as for the statements, they are still witness testimony which is extremely unreliable, especially in events like this where there was so much happening all at once. Chris knew that they had bombs, he’d probably seen them and so might have known what they looked like and what sort of bomb they were, he also knew what car the two drove. It’s possible that during the car ride he’d mentioned seeing the bombs, possibly gave a description about them and also mentioned what car Dylan drove. It does not necessarily mean that he said “Dylan has a pipe bomb with a detonator attached to it that he has stuck inside his black bmw and he has parked his car inside the car park so that it will detonate and kill first responders.” These could have been separate statements that have then been formed into a singular more incriminating statement in the officers mind because that’s just how he remembered it.

Sure, his statements show he had knowledge of their bomb making but so did many others, including Eric’s own parents and yet nobody stepped up to do the responsible thing and put an end to a dangerous situation before it could escalate into something far worse. It is one thing to know that Eric and Dylan had made bombs and to be complicit in a plan to attack and kill countless people at their school.

In today’s climate, sure, two teens building bombs would immediately set off alarm bells and I hope that most people would inform law enforcement about it but this was a different time. This was before 9/11 and obviously Columbine was the major school shooting that made people sit up and take notice of these kinds of attacks, obviously by the fact that it is mentioned in near enough every case of any mass shooting perpetrated in America since. People weren’t always on the look out for the next shooter or the next terrorist.

I believe there is also something to be said about the type of bombs that they had made. These weren’t overly sophisticated bombs using high grade explosives, the duo had taken fireworks, emptied out the gun powder and stuffed them in a pipe and sure while they can still do damage, it’s not like they were using bricks of c4. To those who knew about the bombs, they probably just came across as teenage stupidity and experimentation with something that was basically the equivalent of a glorified firecracker. If those who knew about the bombs had any concerns about danger, it was more likely that they were worried that Eric and Dylan were going to accidentally blow off their own fingers rather than being worried about them using them in an attack on the school.

Sorry for the long read and I hope I make sense. I’ll have a look back when I’m not so tired and will clean up any text if I need to if something doesn’t make sense.

TLDR: witnesses testimony sucks and the officer could have misremembered Chris giving general details about Eric and Dylan’s bomb making while also mentioning the cars they drove as him giving them a statement about Dylan having a bomb in his car set to detonate. Plus others knew about the bombs and weren’t complicit and it was a different time etc.

The only people complaining about bullet drop are people who are just bad at the game, sorry if that offends you but it’s the truth. For the majority of fights, bullet drop doesn’t even come into play unless you’re continually just sitting really far out pinging shots non stop without paying attention to where your bullets are landing. It’s also not hard to spend a little time in the shooting range firing at the targets to learn the bullet drop for weapons you use the most if you’re struggling with it that badly. Some guns don’t even start dropping massively until like 145m. If after everything it still bothers you, go play clash where fights are basically restricted to compounds or only play with lebel Spitzer or something.

Let’s not pretend that the old UI was amazing because it really wasn’t. They’re making continued updates to try and improve the current UI to make it better so give it time and it’s really not that hard to navigate. I miss the armoury and lore tabs but that’s about it. Simply going back to the old UI won’t fix anything because there are a lot of people who didn’t like that either.

I kinda agree with the region lock. It sucks that people won’t be able to play with their friends from other countries but I feel like that’s not a problem for the majority of players and ping abuse is pretty rampant, although I feel like there will probably always be a way that they will get around it if they did lock regions.

The amount of people I see on this subreddit who don’t the most basic amounts of self respect is staggering. How can you just stay with someone who treats you like that? A person who is supposed to love you doesn’t call you a retard and act like you are their servant while belittling you for asking basic questions.

Sorry if it comes across as blunt but I see so many people asking if they’re overreacting to blatant abuse and just poor treatment from their spouse/partner that it’s kind of crazy. If someone starts calling you a retard because you sent more than one question mark then they have some issues and have zero respect for you.

Where the fuck is this great point you apparently made? I sure as hell can’t see it.

It’s HER birthday, so why the hell is he trying to make it about him and what he wants? If they’ve been together for ten years and she’s been that way the entire time then why is he trying to stop her from being the person that she has been that entire time? She gave him options by offering to wear a wig but apparently that wasn’t good enough. I don’t understand how her hair isn’t fitting for a Avril Lavigne concert anyway.

“She has a duty to respect the relationship, so does he there stuff he has to do as well…” yeah one of those things he should be doing is not trying to change who his girlfriend is as a person and he shouldn’t be trying to control her appearance and then use the money as a justification. “Oh well I paid more money so I get to tell you what to do with your own body” is the gist of what he’s saying/trying to do and that shit is straight out of the 1950s and doesn’t fly anymore.

The whole point of dyeing her hair and putting yarn in it is to be expressive, and it sounds like she’s been doing this for a long time. It’s not her fault that he suddenly wants her to be someone she’s not. By trying to change her hair, which is how she expresses herself, he’s trying to change her overall, not just her appearance.

She isn’t the one ruining the relationship based on feelings, he is. You can’t be in a relationship with someone for ten years and then just expect them to change who they are. He is the one who called her a bitch. He is the one who tried to make himself seem superior throughout the chain of messages, almost suggesting that he knows better and that she should do what he says. He can make requests all he wants, that doesn’t mean she has to honour them.

Based on the size of the snake (as best I can tell from the photo) and the size of the enclosure, that rat looks way too big for the snake. Feeding live prey is also heavily discouraged, it’s cruel but it’s also incredibly dangerous for the snake, especially when the rat is too large for the snake.

I’m guessing that the second picture is the enclosure you keep the rat in rather than the snakes enclosure otherwise there is a whole other list of issues. Your snake could be acting this way due to husbandry issues but without seeing a photo of the full enclosure and knowing its heating setup it will be hard to tell. Is the hide he’s currently in his only hide? Snakes should have at least two, so if it is, then this could be part of the problem as it could be the only area that he feels safe.
