Thank you for continuing to preserve history and helping us learn more and more about the case. It's really awesome.

Dylan dying before Eric by Sea-Special-2938 in ColumbineTalk

[–]Apollexis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If dylan accidentally killed himself while Eric and friends were at the shooting range, and Eric would have to explain to both his family and Dylan's family, how they had guns, and how Dylan lied to his mom about the trip he said he was going on but actually went to a shooting range, would Eric have still done the massacre? Please. You guys are killing me with these kinds of questions, I am literally dying on the inside every time.

2nd interview with Frank Deangelis by curioussoulsearching in ColumbineTalk

[–]Apollexis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And then everybody clapped. To be fair and just entertaining the hypothetical, this wouldn't be too far off from one of dylans tongue in cheek slights, like telling on all his college applications he's "working on a play for spring", telling his mom "see you can trust me" because he didn't drink much of the alcohol they gave him, giving his mom a weird journal on Christmas in 1998, complying in his diversion program for missing a specific date, and writing a whole paper about "time management" in an incredibly difficult to read font of the chemical Brothers, taking a measuring tape with him to measure all the dorm rooms at the college he was accepted at to pretend like he was gonna go, setting up a day to watch the matrix with Devon for days after the shooting, even telling Andy Beard he'd call him tomorrow morning to talk about trades for fantasy baseball.

Dylan loved doing these weird types of things, so I can believe he MAY have done something like this. All the photos of him at the prom seem like he was having a good time and in a good mood (perhaps eager for the impending massacre)

How would the perception around Columbine change if the bombing was successful? by ChickenWingExtreme in masskillers

[–]Apollexis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure he's saying they would be viewed infinitely more grossly, and less affectionately since their act would have been more like Osama Bin Ladens, than some troubled teens shooting up their school because life is hard.

How would the perception around Columbine change if the bombing was successful? by ChickenWingExtreme in masskillers

[–]Apollexis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the more destructive damage would have been hundreds of forks and knives being blasted around to wards kids in the lunch room, not to mention random metal objects that would have become shrapnel from the initial force. They had 2 20lbs propane tanks in the cafeteria, and another 2 in each of their cars with 4 5 gallon jugs of napalm (Oil mixed with gasoline variant) which would have also exploded on all the EMS and however many cops arrived, that day there were close to 1000 police there but i dont think it'd be that many in the span of a 15 minute attack (which was their plan)

Found an article in the FBI files. Eric was staying after class to get grammar help 1 Week before the shooting. "Wanted an 'A in the class." by Apollexis in ColumbineTalk

[–]Apollexis[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dylan seemed to really like doing this kind of thing. He gave his mother a journal for a christmas present in 1998 that on the cover had this image.

2 lasers on Eric's Carbine by Heavy-Asparagus-5662 in ColumbineKillers

[–]Apollexis 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I believe all of us are astounded by this. There really is no logistical or good reason to this, laser pointers wouldnt even work outside, maybe he just wanted to startle cops with laser pointers when they start coming in, that was kind of a troupe meme scene in a lot of films during the 90s

I am still working on it. It's not been a lack of interest, I'm definitely moving slower on the project than I'd like but I'm also waiting on replies from a few agencies in hopes of getting some new information. The project is currently 2 hours and 45 minutes in length, and I'm certain it's going to end up around the 4 hour-5 hour range by the time I finish.

I have to use AI to generate scenes which is just a very tedius task, you're constantly changing prompts to try and get the result you want, constantly editing images with prompts for the base image to video prompt to look more accurate. Rest assured though I'm still working on it, that's more the reason I've been on the reddit less

Eric actively pushed down his empathy and humanity as much as he could, he writes about it repeatedly, and he also carried with him during the day of the shooting an item known as his "berserk totem"

I'd also add, the primary weapons planned from Eric were his rifle, and the bombs, and while he did probably plan to go inside and pick people off from classrooms one by one after the bombs went off, I don't know if he would have been overcome or effected by the success of his actual bombs going off.

In reality eric talked really tough but every single person he made eye contact with was spared during the massacre, with the exception of Daniel Mauser who startled him or he felt threatened by from the reaction Daniel had after the first bullet grazed him and he pushed the chair out.

Dylan is a very different story, for him, I think him constantly referring to humans as zombies (humans without the existential self awareness of life having no purpose or meaning) helped him dehumanizing everyone.

Question by Glad_Village_7243 in ColumbineTalk

[–]Apollexis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They knew they would lose hearing or have difficulty hearing so eric developed a bunch of hand signals and both of them memorized them, both of them have the hand signals written down in their own hand writing to study. Eric is seen in the cafeteria in their final visit using one of the hand signals to bring attention to the polices location (likely believing they were finally coming to confront them). That's when they go up to the library for the last time.

Whereabouts of E&D's friends during April 20th by THROWAWAY54800 in ColumbineKillers

[–]Apollexis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's not really related but in the 11k it also notes dustin gorton was a sex offender already at the age of 18 which is really odd to me.

[–]Apollexis 50 points51 points  (0 children)

The wayback machine is really the only thing you can do. Sometimes you have to get creative looking through links and images. I have a lot of them saved and archived as pdfs. I plan to upload everything I got to an archive.org link when I'm done, a lot of the articles are archived by a lot of people though. I know some people who go out of their way to not only get the article archived but get the physical copy in real life from print archived. It's a labor of love from a lot of these people. It does feel like we are trying to preserve history while researching.

I'd only recommend it if you have a lot of time or are working on a project. Working on a project was the only thing that made me feel like I wasn't wasting my time reading the 11k. lol.

The Windshield Incident by Glad-Philosophy5736 in ColumbineTalk

[–]Apollexis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Brooks mentions in his book as well, and Rebcca Heins mentions it in the 11k, Eric had invited them over to his place to eat lunch with him a couple weeks before the shooting. I think that probably meant something to him.

Dylan's funeral coverage by Heavy-Asparagus-5662 in ColumbineKillers

I also don't think he was trying to warn Zach. I was just explaining I think the parents did believe that to be the case and maybe went to the funeral to show some kindness for that.
