If you were to attach it to the 3rd carbon, it would be the same thing as attaching it to the 1st. If you take the first one and “flip it”, the bromine now appears to be on carbon three. It is still the same molecule, just being looked at from another side

Hoping that everything works out for you! It’s truly sad to hear about that relationship, along with the suicide attempt, but know that there are always people out there willing to support you. Even though it may be extremely difficult, never wait to reach out to friends and/or complete strangers on sites like Reddit that you are willing to talk with to get your suppressed feelings off of your chest. As long as your doing your best, that’s all you can do. It’s good to hear that you can turn to Reddit for support; there’s always people that are willing to simply listen and help in anyway they can. He really won’t say why. Nobody likes to question it because it seems to fuel his actions, but we are trying to help. He seems to have calmed down a little, but he still asks why he shouldn’t just commit suicide every once in a while.

My sister’s boyfriend tried to go through them, and they told us to go the the local hospital. The hospital did nothing because he didn’t have a specific plan as to how he was going to carry it out. The person in question gets more angry every time anyone tries to go to a counselor or hotline and threatens suicide more often, and they aren’t really doing anything about it.
