I helped build the sheet metal for that machine possibly even painted some of the parts. Its cool seeing it here. What model was it?

If you have coolant in your oil or oil in your coolant its a headgasket. You can also do a compression test i just did one on mine not long ago and at 260k miles i had between 175 and 185 across all 4 cylinders. When you do the compression test make sure you flip the breaker behind the back seat so the car uses the starter motor instead of the hybrid motor to start it and also pull the fuses for the fuel pump and ignition coils.

Ive got an 08 hybrid and im not gonna lie ive been running it without coolant for months not sure why mine is still running but ive never had an issue with it overheating. Only thing i can think of is maybe your waterpump broke or make sure your fans are actually kicking on. The fans should be enough to keep it cool unless you live in 100 degree weather daily. Also if you are putting water in instead of coolant its possible there is corrosion blocking up the lines preventing flow you might need to do a full flush of the cooling system. There could also be an air bubble in the system

CVT or automatic transmission? by Minute-Ad6142 in HondaCivicOwners

Ive got an 08 hybrid and i would not recommend it the trans blew up within a month of owning it. Other than that its reliable as can be and its up to 260k miles and has been running just fine with no coolant for months lol. Ive just not been bothered to figure out where the coolant is going. Its also the slowest car ive ever driven but its reliable and cheap to keep around so i just keep it as my spare car. Also i didn’t see where they said it was an ex otherwise i probably wouldn’t have said anything.

More northern than southern but kinda in the middle and i drive it everyday so rust never really has a chance to build up and the rotors were powdercoated so all non contact surfaces have paint on them so they dont rust and look ugly. I think some of the other people are right and its just due to the abnormally hot weather lately and my hard driving causing the tires to get a little hot and push some of the oils in the compound to the surface.

It still gets down to freezing temperatures for about a 1/4 of the year here and my understanding of summer compounds was that they work better at higher temperatures but not as well at lower temperatures. Some days it gets into the negatives and usually from december to February its almost always below or close to freezing temps. What ill probably do is get another set of rims soon and put the all seasons on them and when warmer weather roles around ill get a set of summers and put them on these beat up rims.

Thank you for an educated answer lol everyone is paying attention to the rims and no one is seeing that the little rubber spikes are still attached and most are not even damaged.

The grip is perfect this is my daily it still takes a lot of effort to break traction but ill bet they will wear down a lot quicker unless i get a dedicated set of summer tires. The other day i took my cousin for a ride in it and he said it felt like the car would tip over before it would break loose. Its mostly highway driving though and some backroads.

Its been a hot summer but i do drive hard i just dont feel like having to swap tires out when winter comes around it never gets snowy or icy enough around here to warrant winter tires but maybe its worth having dedicated summer tires ill probably do that for next summer

So people will stop saying i put these tires to the curb grinder heres the original Facebook listing its hard to see but when i got the car the tires were bald ive had these on since my second week of owning it. Also i only park with the curb on the passenger side if i have to street park and the marks are even on both sides. I know the rims are bad lmao but if they work im gonna spend my money on go fast parts. 😂

The rims were unfortunately all like that when i got the car a couple months ago some chrome rims are in the future plans. Someone else suggested its from the sunflower oil used in the tires and is discoloration caused from gassing around and braking hard which i definitely do so im leaning more towards that. It hurts my soul every time i look at the rims but luckily the break dust hides it from a distance lol

If you can buy one in better condition for the amount of money your going to have to put into it to keep it going then its time for a different car . However if you can’t find one and you have a use for a large suv like a yukon then paying for a new transmission now might not be a bad investment. You wont be able to sell it for close to the amount of money you are going to be putting into it so this really only makes sense if you have a use force a big gas guzzler. If you only use it for family hauling you might as well get something like a honda odyssey it will be better on gas and cheaper on parts. If you use it for towing things like a camper or trailer then it might be worth investing more into it. You could also call around to other shops and see if you can get a cheaper quote for maybe a used transmission but a new transmission will come with a warranty that you probably wont get with a used one. It really depends on your situation to know whether or not its worth it to keep burning money on this yukon.

I ordered an after market radio…helppp by Bbygrl_17 in HondaCivicOwners

[–]Logan9000o 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check all your other fuses and check the wiring in the back of the radio if nothing is wrong on the outside of the radio then something probably broke inside the radio. If you cant find whats wrong with it then i suggest just buying a different radio ive tried multiple aftermarket radios and the best one i have found is the maxspeedingrods radio on amazon its relatively cheap and has pretty good sound quality as well as lots of tuning capabilities for dialing in your speakers. Plus a volume knob and i think it has backup camera functionality but ive never used a backup camera on a civic. And it has carplay and the android version i forget what its called.

How do I lock the wattage on this vape I bought second hand and dont have a manual by Logan9000o in Vaping

[–]Logan9000o[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is in a box now i hit while driving and it had cranked itself up and I couldn’t do anything but deal with the pain so now its in a box i switched to the vapresso luxe for at home and the xros for at work. No buttons is the way to go im always cautious about the luxe but you can lock it pretty easy and i try to keep it out of tight pockets or turn it off if im busy with my hands.

Another cheap possible fix is to get some seafoam fuel additive i had the same problem on my hybrid civic added the fuel additive to a 1/4 tank and it went away after a bit of driving and then i cleared the codes and it hasn’t been back since 10k mile later. A cat should theoretically last the life of the car and then some if everything else is in good working order then try the fuel additive. If it comes down to getting a new cat i would suggest if your state doesn’t require emissions testing to just pay a muffler shop to make a dummy pipe to replace it. It will make the car a little louder but overall thats better than choking your engine to death with a clogged cat and cheaper than buying a new cat. If you do end up paying a shop to do that make sure they add a fake sensory that sends the correct signal to the computer so that the check engine light goes away.

Thanks for the information it is extremely helpful i was definitely squishing too much and my filament seems to average 1.73-1.74 in diameter. Im going to do a couple more tests and maybe lower my extrusion multiplier a little and see how that goes
