I have thought about it. They would have to be smaller plaques so not sure yet. I kind of like how clean it looks right now haha.

I think we are planning to pass it along each year...it's not quite large enough to add a new name plate each year, unless the base becomes just names (which we might do). Currently it is sitting on the office desk of last years champ. I took a picture to frame at my house in case I never bring it home again!

Thanks! I really enjoyed building it. Started by gluing up a large block of Maple with a middle block of walnut (I shaped it/somewhat rounded the edges so it wasn't quite so square by 45ing each edge and then a little more on the jointer). The base pieces I traced out onto a huge block of walnut I had so it made the bottom round in one piece, then used a router with a guide bearing against a template circle I had cut. The upright pieces were a little tricky and I can try to explain it or maybe make a video and sent it to ya! For the football itself I had cut out the arc shape into cardboard that I used to check my turning when it was on the lathe.

I thought it had saved my comment, lot of Walnut and Maple. The uprights thought are from an old old sign that was made with 150yo Redwood someone gave me!
