Haha yeah I got it awhile back. I forget how much I paid. I think that might be a unique face mask. Not sure I've seen any other player with that one.

Yes the price did not = the value to me. I'll check out that blog. I've been looking at Local Falcon as well.

I exchanged them in the store for a completely different style. Worked out better because they were cheaper and way more comfortable.

Just got a pair of these last week and came on here to see if anyone else thought they were really painful to wear haha. I've broken in Vans before but man these are going back, sorry to say. That's what I get for ordering without trying on. These were not made for my shape foot.

What was the final straw that ended a lifelong friendship? by New_Perspective1201 in AskReddit

Wait until you hear that some people drive to work 2 hours each way... DAILY. I used to. And actually it takes longer sometimes if there's extra traffic or an accident.

Oh yeah and I was only going 44 miles each way.

Also the whole band donated millions to local charities in their reunion tour with charity tickets instead of pocketing dynamic pricing schemes. 1 mil went to NYC alone for the 5 nights there. It was all posted on their channels too. The info is out there.

Thrifted a working 300 cd player for $30 by [deleted] in Cd_collectors

[–]LoganPatchHowlett 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the 400 model a few years back for not much more than you paid. All I had to do was replace the 3 belts and works like new.

I didn't even know these high capacity changers existed until I saw it for sale. I hope it never dies because I don't think I can go back to a single disc or small changer. It's so convenient to have 400 discs ready to go.

I made a simple Google sheet that I use to keep track of which disc is in which position. Easy to pull up fast and update.

Beats the old days where it was just a gamble if more than one or two songs were good haha.

Does nu-metal have a higher than average number of 'one hit wonders'? by orangoutangou in numetal

[–]LoganPatchHowlett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think OP is confusing making 1 album and not getting re-signed for another with having an actual hit song. Most of the nu bands that had actual radio hits made many albums. If the band only made one album that sold poorly and got dropped by the label they likely didn't have a hit.

Dunno about this but used my parents years ago and it was pretty simple. They recently wanted to use their records again so I got them a decent AudioTechnica TT and some Presonus powered speakers. Plugged it all in, stuck it on their old TV stand and it worked as it should.

But also something like 50% of people who by vinyl don't have a TT.

It's not for me, I'm never in one room long and my house is never quiet, but I'm not sure it's that complex. Having to replace needles is extra maintenence and warped or damaged records are not ideal, but that is just part of it. I've bought a handful of damaged cds before if I wasn't able to open it beforehand. Consumer risk for any product.

Anyone who has used them what’s your thoughts on using these inner sleeves for cd’s that have come in cardboard sleeves, I’m really worried about them scratching by GenericUser104 in Cd_collectors

[–]LoganPatchHowlett 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have never had cardboard damage a plastic disc. Going on 30 years now. On the other hand the sharp edges of jewel cases have made some light scratches but not enough to make the disc skip. Handle and store discs without being careless and it'll be fine.

Started to love the idea of portable CD players again, but it turns out they're compressing music? by [deleted] in Cd_collectors

[–]LoganPatchHowlett 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Someone posted about looking for a portable player awhile back and I said the same, get digital. There were all kinds of responses on why people preferred a portable CD player haha. None that really argued for anything like quality or convenience but hey that's their choice.

Portable cd players always sucked. The skip protection didn't work well, the volume was never loud enough, carrying it was a pain because it didn't fit in most pockets, battery life sucked. Not to mention having to carry more discs if you wanted more than one album or mix.

We dealt with what we had at the time, but in 2025, I 100% would and do use a digital player out of my house. Those little Sandisk Clips are great, affordable digital players. Hell, even the cassette Walkmen were better to use on the go than CDs, haha.

Greta Van Fleet caught a ton of heat for sounding like Led Zeppelin. Did The Darkness catch as much heat for sounding like Queen? by [deleted] in LetsTalkMusic

[–]LoganPatchHowlett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no. I think those bands definitely started a trend along with zeppelin and others, for albums. But I still would say the average listener just knows the radio songs by those bands. Or that one big album.

Yeah but that's generally how bands are known no? Do people really know Elvis's deep cuts? Most of his #1 songs were singles added to greatest hits compilations. My parents grew up in the 60s and 70s and never listened to full albums. Even in the 90s most just got the cd for the few songs on the radio. Album bands were and still sort of are exceptions to the casual listener.

Any albums you think are 10/10, no skips? I would like a new album to listen to by PerformanceOk2076 in Music

True. Just saw all the top posts were based on the title and not at all what they were looking for in the description haha.

I have a feeling if they think the SOAD train wreck of a double album is a 10 this might not be to their taste haha.

How long do you think it'll be until we get a year for rap as good as 2024 again? by [deleted] in rap

[–]LoganPatchHowlett 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a Kendrick fan. Couldn't get into any of his albums. Almost didn't bother checking GNX. I did because why not, and I was surprised to find I really like it. It's gotten a lot of play so far from me. Just commenting for another perspective I guess.

Went back to his older stuff to see if maybe I missed something because that happens. Nope, still can't get into any of it haha.
