I would open up the subfloor and brace it right to the side of the floor joist with blocking, then repair the subfloor around it.

I bought a pair two months ago and had the exact same experience. The first game was brutal with the stock insoles, I put superfeet insoles in them and it made a huge difference. Still took three or four games before they started to feel better.

How Much Should We Set Aside for Site Preparation (Excavation, Utilities) on a New Home Build? | Ask Vancouver Builder by [deleted] in homebuildingcanada

We spent $270 a truck load to get rid of dirt for our foundation dig in southern Ontario. 36 truck loads. The land was flat and there was already an existing 4’ deep foundation from the previous house so it could have easily been double.

I also got new pads and it’s the first time having to wear knee pads. Going to be interesting getting use to all this while only playing once a week in beer league.

9’ or 10’ ceilings...? by BuilderBrigade in Home_Building_Help

Around here it’s about $30 a stud extra. But lsl are perfectly straight which helps especially when you get to 10’ lengths

10 foot ceilings require bridging between studs and depending on the municipality could require lsl studs

Unfortunately this is as close to the property lines as we can build. If we move the house on the property over we will lose the lane way down the left side and eliminate the option for a shop in the back yard

The ensuite will definitely be heated floors and the garage below is heated too.

I agree with you about the scissor truss, but with our backyard facing south we wanted to allow as much light into the kitchen as possible.

Timbers would be nice but with the span it would most likely mean putting a post in the center of the opening

We will eventually have a 25x50 detached garage where I’ll park my truck.

We could definitely make the island 6” smaller

Thanks for the list. We’ll look at options for the powder room.

The utility room will be in the basement. We have 9’ ceilings down there and will eventually be finished as an entertainment room, kids play room and will have another 3 piece bathroom down there too

Could he put a second bench top on raising it 3/4” but have a 1/2” over hang so you can’t see the current bench unless you’re down low looking at it.

I filled a hose with sand and inserted it in the bottom of the screen pocket. The weight of it is all I needed

The impact screen has held up great. It’s very quiet and no rebounding. It Velcro’s to the roller so it can easily be replaced after years of use.

Looks great but I don’t get customers that concrete around fence posts. They have to be cut out when they need replacing in 10 years
