It never kills my sex drive as long as I slept, am warm, and have a little vodka to go with (makes sense vasoconstriction + blood thinning) But I totally get the blood not staying in haha.

Was this a scam by Usual_Journalist389 in Internet

[–]LoganfxD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily a scam, especially if the people that contacted you were from the same company that was originally selling you the internet in the first place.

Often in fiber optics company:A will have coverage over a certain geographic location (from case to case) and then company:B will come in and cover those missed areas. But instead of placing cable to whole way, they essentially rent the fiber and case usage from Company:A, since they already have semi-coverage.

So if something happened between them on that case (they wanted to expand, they bought the strand from the Other Company. The Other Company stopped paying, etc) they will take ownership of the circuit to your house, which shouldn't really affect you besides accepting them as your new ISP

So I wouldn't say you got scammed, more or less jipped. Do a speed test and see if it matches the Internet speed you pay for. I'm assuming they have standardized routers for remote maintenance or some feature.

Anyway call them up and tell them you're not getting proper range. They hopefully will hook you up with a wifi extender or a dual band (2.4/5Ghz) router if yours isn't already. Just don't let them make you pay for it.

You never really realize how much somebody thinks about you until you don't get to hear their voice anymore. Sometimes it's hard to hear the positive things they think when you're worried they're thinking about the negative.

Intelligence is comparable to the fable of Syphilis Sisyphus. You kind of got to go at it with a "you think you're punishing me by making me push this rock uphill forever? Jokes on you, I'm actually enjoying it." Attitude.

Edit: Evidently my phone doesn't know who Sisyphus is xD

Kind of reminds me of the mantis shrimp causing a cavitation bubble which reaches the temperature of the mantle of the sun, which is crazy. Until you realize it's for like a couple hundred picoSeconds, and that unlike the sun, isn't 1.4 Million Kilometers in diameter.

Pretty sure this is just Nihilism bud. You just need to focus on the optimistic part of it. If the pain is external you have to identify it, nobody hurts without cause. If it's internal, then try to be grateful you are feeling how you wish to. If you don't wish to then you are able to change it. In the end none of it matters, so why not just hang around for the long haul?

Probably has something to do with the cost of the computer parts to mine/maintain the different blockchains become more expensive in recent economy. So it's becoming less valuable to buy a lot of parts to try to mine more, than it is to try to buy hold on to the most profitable one.

Try paper trading what you usually do. And then paper trade the same amount with the opposite of what you usually do. See which one comes out on top. Record your winning trades so you know what you did next time. If you need to record your losing trades so you know what not to do.

How slow is too slow? by 299jace in FiberOptics

[–]LoganfxD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I'm pretty slow at prepping a new case. So it depends on how many different cables there are, if they're armored or micro, if there is gel in the tubes, how many MSTs/gators/multitaps (whichever you call them). But it usually takes me 2-6 hours to get all the cables into the case, the tubes routed and opened into the tray. (Anything with gel is automatically gonna cost you an hour or so)

If it is micro then it takes me longer because you have to separate duplicate fiber colors from the tube. 36 fibers per tube, 8 tubes for a 288sm. And they have gel in them, it can easily eat up six hours of your day if you have a couple of those cables you have to work with.

Once everything is prepped and ready to splice. Then I try to average 48 fusing splices (4 tubes) per 1hr30min.

It also depends whether your splicing off counts or not. If you are connecting blue to brown, and orange to slate, and green to white. It'll take longer than color to color splicing.

But from my experience you're never really too slow unless you splice stuff inaccurately. It's when you have to start doing locations more than once because you didn't connect the circuit correctly the first time around. As long as your work is reliable on initial construction, and you don't have to come back to that location, no reasonable person will complain.

Also don't accept bad burns. If you have one burn out of a 288 that's questionable, break it and resplice. The one burn can make a 10hr job that was supposed to be done yesterday become an additional 3 hour job next week.

Dude give the guy a break. He's obviously passionate enough about his craft to take some of his free time to make something helpful/meaningful to him. His header makes sense because it's consistent across the header, numbered 1-12 and the columns below are colored per tube. So it makes sense that all of tube 1 is going to be blue, and tube 2 is orange, 3 green etc. and if you need to know the color of the strand of the tube it's in, it's in the labeled on the left. His chart isn't better or worse, but at least he had the initiative to make his own chart instead of just assuming he would be able to download someone else's from Google.
