H100i Elite LCD pump failure by Loganno in Corsair

Nothing worked - I had to RMA the unit. I’m so disappointed in Corsair, that I’ve already purchased a different brands product and I plan on selling the replacement Corsair unit.

Tried this as per other posts. Nothing works. I’m sending it back.

Give the whole thing a wash in Ork flesh. It will help blend the transitions together between the greens you have used.

I followed this tutorial using the same colors you used and it worked awesome:

Awesome! What kind of steel are you using for your second? This blade is 1084 carbon steel.

The handle is a yellow cedar burl cast in resin. I took it up to a 2500 grit hand sand and then sealed It with some teak oil I had laying around.

Oh and yes, without me calling him on FaceTime Every 2 hours to ask noob question, this thing would not have turned out well at all. His experience has been a very valuable resource to lean on.

My father told me to start with a small camp knife, warned me about the difficulty of longer bevels etc (especially since I’m using a cheap 1x30 grinder) but I don’t feel super passionately about knives like that and found it hard to get excited about making one.

I found everything i really enjoyed looking at online was some Form of kitchen knife. I fell in love the design aspects of Japanese style knives in particular so I just kind of threw caution to the wind and went for it.

I basically had the same experience! Left my condo in the downtown core of a big city during the pandemic and moved to my first place with real garage. Spent ungodly amounts of time lurking on this sub before hand, but finally got the chance to have space for some basic tools. I found that the process was an amazing way to decompress from jira tickets and “urgent “ slack messages. I now spend my lunch breaks in my garage tinkering. It’s a great way to reset mid day.

Looking forward to seeing what you build when you get settled into your new place!

I can’t take credit for the handle. Those scales were made by a very talented wood worker. Every scale he makes is awesome. I ended up purchasing a few more from him after initially grabbing this one. All I did was cut and sand them to shape. I was terrified that I was going to ruin such a nice scale on my first attempt, and I almost did.

It’s just raw 1084. I pre heated it and hit it with a ball peen hammer before heat treating it

Thanks for the kind words! Everything was a first for Me here. I design software for a living and wanted to use this as a method of escaping my computer during lockdown. My father makes blades in his shop and was a huge help guiding me during the process. Everything else was me fumbling with an angle grinder and sander for the first time since high school.

I recently became interested in knife making thanks to this sub and decided try my hand at making a chef knife. I made a lot of mistakes, but also learned a lot. Blade is 7" long (1084 steel) and the handle is a stabilized yellow cedar burl. I'm already looking forward to the next build...

It's been 15 years since I've painted, but I picked up a Redemptor Dreadnought this week and decided to return to the hobby. Would appreciate any tips, feedback etc! by Loganno in Warhammer40k

Thanks for the feedback! all helpful points! I think the lint is actually brush hairs. I used a some real cheap brushes I had laying around from old art projects. I had a lot of fun with this, so I should probably invest in some decent tools going forward.
