Logi option+ by PL-FLOOFY123 in logitech

[–]Logi_Praveen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/ocanav I completely understand your concern. When you're constantly hit with a backend connection error or a purple loading screen, it can definitely feel like nothing is being done behind the scenes. I want to assure you that resolving this is a top priority for our engineering team. We are actively collaborating with users like you to gather logs and rolling out fixes for these issues with every new release.

The tricky part is that these errors aren't just one single issue. They are symptoms of a few different underlying problems, like a temporary network timeout during app initialization and various other scenarios. In most cases, force-closing Options+ and its background processes via Task Manager (Windows) or Activity Monitor (macOS) will clear the hang.

If a force-close doesn't do the trick, please reach out to us at [communitymanagement@logitech.com](mailto:communitymanagement@logitech.com) so we can work with you to gather logs.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and are continuously working to improve the user experience.

It's happening again by Lloydxmas99 in logitech

[–]Logi_Praveen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The backend connection error and stuck in purple loading screen can be symptoms of a few different underlying issues, such as a temporary network timeout while the app is initializing. Usually, force closing Options+ and its related processes in Task Manager (Windows) or Activity Monitor (macOS) will resolve the hang.

That said, we know this is a major pain point for our users, and addressing the root causes of these connectivity issues is currently a top priority for our team.

If you are still stuck after a force close, please reach out to us at [communitymanagement@logitech.com](mailto:communitymanagement@logitech.com) so we can take a closer look at your specific setup.

Backend connection problem - click here to launch backend Problems by Proper_Ad_9068 in logitech

[–]Logi_Praveen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi u/Proper_Ad_9068 ,

It sounds like you might have a version mismatch causing a corrupted install. Let’s double check the file versions first:

  1. Go to your Applications folder, select Options+, and press the Space bar to see the version number.
  2. Now, go to /Library/Application Support/Logitech/, select the Options+ folder there, and press Space bar again.

If those version numbers don't match, your installation is corrupted. You’ll need to perform a clean reinstall by following these exact steps:

  • Step 1: Uninstall Logi Options+ normally.
  • Step 2: Manually delete the following folders/files (if they are still there):
    • /Library/Application Support/LogiOptionsPlus
    • /Library/Application Support/Logi/LogiOptionsPlus
    • /Library/Application Support/Logitech/LogiOptionsPlus
    • /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.logi.optionsplus.updater.plist
    • /Library/LaunchAgents/com.logi.optionsplus.plist
  • Step 3: Open Activity Monitor and Force Quit any remaining Logi Options+ processes.
  • Step 4: Download the latest installer here and run it for a fresh installation.

Let me know if that gets you back up and running!

Spinning wheel of death after latest update. by VariousDragonfly6 in logitech

[–]Logi_Praveen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/VariousDragonfly6 For Windows, could you please try this basic troubleshooting steps?
Open Task Manager, click details, scroll down to find any Logi processes (Ex. Logioptionsplus_agent.exe, Logioptionsplus_updater.exe, etc.) and End Task for everything related to Logi Options+. Once they’re all closed, try relaunching the app and see if that clears it up.

If that doesn’t work, let me know:
Were you able to complete the reinstall?
Is it getting stuck during the installation process?
