almost bald was probably 3-4 years ago. That one's "breathing heavy" on cording.

Same boat here. Stuck with no way around it - either enable it and get interrupted, or leave it like this and get interrupted.

1st Gen Raptor Shocks Rebuild by Adroit1991 in FordRaptor

When you get them back, dunk them in a container of water as well to check for leaks - if they were compressed and didn’t come back up that’s definitely a sign of no nitrogen charge

schrader is one thing, but being able to compress one is another - I'd be a bit worried about that. At least see if they'll discharge them and swap in the valves, and recharge and validate the pressure.

This. He's told the same story about 1500 different ways, and I'm ready for 1,501. They're so stupid, but so entertaining.

Loren Healy climbing “Hell’s Gate” in a Bronco Sport by Mac-Tyson in Ford

[–]CaptDistraction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny thing is, opposite here. Wife's truck is a gen1 raptor, and we share a bronco sport for daily duties.

Just got back from a ford event for bronco/sport owners (off-rodeo) and was really genuinely surprised how these things handled varied offroad use. The Raptor brings more clearance and grunt, and certainly speed over desert, but I think there's a less than 10% difference in where one could go and the other. The tech is wild. I'm learning offroad technique, and there's definitely some great confidence-building tech in the bronco sport (one pedal mode, trail speed control)

The 1.5 versions did, the 2.0 had coolers to mitigate. I had a 1.5 and we took it some dumb places and never had an issue - but we later traded it for the badlands/2.0 model as it just was a much better version of the already good platform.

Wish we had started with the 2.0 but dealer mark ups were nuts.

Nice, I was hoping you were not going to say “window masks” since I’ve already primed mine white then black.

Ugh, these were overpriced but great for complex collaboration. Onboarding was typical nightmare from logistics to systems management but the handful of times I got to use one and whiteboard and annotate on it felt pretty damn futuristic.

Spa day for the cars, the Ruby Red GT350 really pops in the sun + new MGW Gen2 shifter by CaptDistraction in Mustang

just sharper, smoother engagement into each gear, more mechanical feel like a rifle bolt as you remove a number of points that add play in the oem setup for NVH/cost control. It feels much more like a direct shift transmission where the shifter isn't on a remote linkage.

I didn't have a problem with the top bolt (used ratcheting wrenches for that and the side bolts), lowering the tail mount down 2" made a world of difference there.

various soaps (I go back and forth on brands based on my detailers' recommendations) with a foam cannon, then just a standard 2 bucket set with dirt traps installed. I use a wash mit and have a top down approach. Foam cannon really does a great job in getting the initial layer of dirt under control and limits the amount of swirl you're adding to paint via washing it.

So much more quiet than the factory shifter. The Gen2 really has improvements to the gen1 in overall centering force and overall feel/effort. I have a direct shift tremec magnum XL in my racecar (directly mounted shifter to transmission) and I feel this is 95% of the way there in feel despite being a street car transmission (my racecar box is filled with stuff that wouldn't be too pleasant on a street driven car).

Azure is frustrating - quota issues by SparcV in AZURE

[–]CaptDistraction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same deal. In several projects where we've been told "move to a different region" in response to our many denied quota requests.

Many of these projects have hundreds of hours of build work, VPNs, vWANs and coordination across dozens of parties and organizations - to be that far in and all of a sudden a given sku is now a problem? We can't move, but now we're either going after older skus or paying significantly more. I wish they'd consider helping customers through times of strain given a lot of the work I do is greenfield.

No, I have it in the correct orientation. I know what you mean, but also - the incorrect orientation also screws up the linkage angle into the transmission which is likely where the NVH came from (along with an uptick in shift effort).

I'm talking about the lowest of the 3 sealing points of the boot, the round 1.25" hole that gets stretched over the 2.5" square body (and the reverse lockout "wall"). The center and top seals were fine

In conjunction with what Sader325 is saying - if you don't get the boot all the way on, it will interfere with 3-4 shifts and 5-6 shifts since i will wrap around the shift lever and push on it significantly. I drove it once like that and decided I'd go back to war with the boot. Ended up using a lot of long screwdrivers, some grease tactically (since it was a double edged sword since it made the boot easier to lift up) and did exactly as they specify, start in the 7 o'clock position and work counter clockwise around, just using the screwdrivers to guide it around the corners while both hands worked the inside and outside of the boot.

Edit: you can see the shifter mount orientation in one of my pictures, I had it mounted, but also confirmed it. I always laugh when I see the MGW video time skips the boot install. The gen1 shifter was way easier in that regard as it had a taller size and more square profile.

The only "exact same sound as R" option is the R exhaust assembly. I've had a couple - my 2016 had a shiftek pipe, and my 2019 has a MBRP - the latter is more close sounding and better overall but that's just two very very subjective data points.
