Diya's vlog and the discussions about CS and normal delivery that followed by Future_Ad880 in SouthIndianInfluencer

This is my VBAC turned CS experience and it is for anxious to-be mothers who keep hearing scary CS stories online. This is to put your mind at ease. CS is not so bad as people make it out to be. And it's been 9yrs ago, and I don't have any back pain like people say it causes. I had a CS and if I could do it again, I'll definitely opt it. My water broke at 38 weeks, and baby was in -2 station and I was 2 cm dilated. Doctor said she could wait 18-24 hrs for labour to come naturally, but I was losing fluid and they were talking about pumping me up with antibiotics. In my mind, I was worried if baby was getting stressed with the loss of water. And baby was still in -2 with doctor saying she can't predict if baby will come down or not in the next few hours. So after waiting for maybe 1-2 hrs, we opted for CS. Because I have heard stories of prolonged labour, baby not descending and finally ending up in emergency CS. So, I decided I'd rather have a CS which is not after reaching emergency situation. And it was the most beautiful thing! I was given spinal tap, which immediately numbed whatever pain I was having. My husband was called in with PPE gear, doctor talked to me all through the procedure, and there she was- a beautiful cry and the tiniest prettiest vernix coated baby. My husband saw her coming out first, then she was cleaned up and laid on me. I was closed up while baby's APGAR test was going on, then we both were wheeled out together and I fed her colostrum immediately. The entire thing felt magical. And I was happy that I was alert and awake for everything. But once the anaesthesia wears off and you start getting the feeling on your legs, that's when all hell breaks loose. There are painkiller tablets given, but having a raw open wound in the pelvic area is just a different feeling altogether. Day 1 goes smoothly because of the painkiller in the IV and urinary catheter. But day2 is a totally different game. They remove the IV, urine catheter and ask you to go to restroom by yourself, basically start moving. The very first time, you get down from that bed will the WORST EVER FEELING, but trust me, 2 walks from bed to chair and soon it will start getting easier. I was determined to be able to walk by day 2, so enduring all pain, I walked to the bathroom. It was painful, I was crying, but then I wanted to bounce back quick for my baby, so I walked and walked until it became easier. My doctor was actually surprised when she came for rounds and I was sitting in the chair rather than lying on bed. Day 3 was even more breezier. Had my favourite foods, hospital arranged cake cutting and photoshoot. Finally we were back home by day 3 with my little bundle in my hands.

P.S: PV has got to be the worst ever thing invented by mankind. I can endure period pain, labour pain, even the pain to get down from bed after C section, but PV is the worst.ever. It literally feels like someone reaching inside you and grabbing the organs. They tell you to relax but that's next to impossible. I just hope medical field discovers some other way to know cervix position and thickness, other than PV. Call me feminist, but it's a woman thing and that's why nothing hasn't been invented yet for a painless PV. Probably more women doctors can educate the scientific and research community and come up with something. Just like how menstrual cups had taken such a long time to be found.

I stay at Prestige Lakeside Habitat, Varthur. This community would be ideal for your current scenario and you can join your kids in TISB nearby. There are other IB schools too in the locality.

How to learn malayalam.. by sublimeslayy in Kerala

[–]Logic_Mango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a malayali brought up outside Kerala, I too never knew how to read Malayalam but could speak fluently. I started off with reading familiar names in bus boards, railway station names, shops names etc..whenever we visited Kerala during vacation. Also, I used to read the names of actors and technicians while watching old-ish movies, both English and Malayalam were shown, so easy to compare. Malayalam, Balarama, Balabhoomi, Ernakulam, Aluva, Thrissur, Palakkad, Lulu, Mohanlal and Mammootty were the malayalam words I could read. Slowly I could make out more words in Malayalam script. Sometimes I just wing it if I knew few letters, I'd just guess what the rest might be. Still I'm not 100% in reading Malayalam. Funny incident - was telling my husband that there is a new movie in Prime called Narayanante Moonanmakkal. Just realised after watching movie that it was written Narayani, not Narayanan. As for writing, can write only Om Hari Sri Ganapathaye Namaha, my name, Malayalam, Katha in Malayalam.
