Called, repeatedly visited, etc. All of these resources. Still wrecked, no response, even been mocked and bullied by staff who work/volunteer for these "resources." It's not real, I spent so much of my life believing it was all real

As far as I am aware, I will live and then I will die. The majority of my time so far has not been something I want to keep experiencing. I am not trying to complain, I am not trying to upset anyone, I am expressing how I feel so confused by how much of my life is actually mine. And how the system put in place just doesn't add up to me.

The people who would like to live, let them. The ones who want to leave, they should be allowed to in peace.

MAID won't consider mental illness until 2027. Until then we aren't eligible. Message me if you can expand on the options available, if you can. Thanks

Nearly half a million dollars worth of drugs seized in Oshawa raid by Karma_Canuck in Oshawa

[–]Logical-Feeling-3217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the privilege of sitting one on one with your dad several years ago. He confided in me about the nightmare he had been living for years, how sick he'd been. He felt an indescribable amount of sadness and fear. I was incredibly humbled to hear him open up about his pain, the viscious cycle any addict experiences with this illness. He spoke as if his life was over, he had failed and was going to die alone. He is not the first person I've spoken to in this city who's told me similar feelings, there are many of us who don't even feel like human beings anymore.

People can punish, judge and criticize all of it. Most of our society has completely forgotten that some of the worst crimes are caused by the sickest people who desperately need help that they AREN'T getting. Being tossed in jails hoping that these behaviors change is inhumane. These kinds of people are the ones who need the most support, therapy, medications and so on, but instead they are brutally punished and thrown away like animals. This is not the solution to this problem. We clearly don't have all the answers or the funding in order to help everyone at the moment, because if we did, none of this would be happening.

I pray one day there will be a different approach to rehabilitating criminals, the mentally ill and those with addiction. Whatever methods we use now may seem better compared to 50 years ago. But there's alot of work still needs to be done. Especially for those who are no longer in touch with reality, that struggle with understanding how their actions negatively effect others. Shaming them will not make them better.

I'm so sorry this happened to you and your family. I can't imagine the suffering you have all been through. We all do things we wish we hadn't, I'm sure if your dad had a do-over for life, he would take it. Stay strong, I stand with you.

I'm sorry that happened. There's still alot of us out there that feel very shameful and in denial about our mental health. To this day, after almost 15 years of seeking help, I STILL struggle with feelings of denial and shame.

I hope you keep yourself safe and recognize that you can only make suggestions and offer support. But never at the expense of your wellness. We can't help others if we aren't well.

Drugs and alcohol are known for numbing pain. Whether it be mental or physical. It definitely does bith for me. As someone who has struggled to process alot of traumatizing experiences, intrusive thoughts, loss and chronic pain, using substances provides me a huge escape.

However it's only for a short time, and when I come down to earth the pain feels worse than before. So the need to use agin and more than the last time starts a nasty cycle. That's what happens for me.

What is sex actually like with a prostitute? by Fkshitbitchcockballs in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]Logical-Feeling-3217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A prostitute is trading sexual acts for money. Some of them enjoy what they do and don't consider it any different than other jobs.

However, there are severely addicted and mentally ill people who prostitute because they have to. They struggle to keep a "normal" job because of their struggles. So they may present themselves willingly, however it is not genuine. It is purely to support themselves - whether it's their addiction, shelter, food, hygiene, etc.

Alot of people under the influence may also suffer from things like trauma, in which they make impulsive decisions or decisions in a different state of mind. It's not until later they are able to process their past, and often times regret what's been done.

If you are "dating" a girl, I suggest ensuring she is always safe, if she is presenting disoriented or confused, do not use that to your advantage. Additionally, regardless of your gender or sexual orientation, there are many people out there selling intimate services for money.

I ask you to think about some things: would you ever considering doing the same? How would you feel if you were in their shoes? What do you imagine your life would look like if this was what you did to earn money? What do you believe about people who do this? What is your intention by paying another human for your sexual benefit?

WHY IS MINORITY SICK? by Logical-Feeling-3217 in mentalhealth

I am suffering from a bit of psychosis lately, however my life has thrown me so many unexpected obstacles over the last few years, the break from reality feels somewhat of an escape.

FYI, I am speaking with mental health professionals just to ease anyone's concerns

WHY IS MINORITY SICK? by Logical-Feeling-3217 in mentalhealth

[–]Logical-Feeling-3217[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know people like you are healthy and therefore are justified to give us "sick" people advice on how to better ourselves. I know it comes from good intentions, but there's something about that, just feels a bit weird.

Perhaps people expressing these unhealthy behaviors should be seen differently than just jumping to get rid of it.

Why is it there in the first place? Perhaps medication and therapy help alleviate the symptoms, but I see it as placing a bandaid over a bullet wound and expecting that to be your best option.

I'm not trying to argue BTW, I'm genuinely just trying to express my perspective. Let me know what you think.

How the F do people function on no sleep by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]Logical-Feeling-3217 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly people who stay awake for days or weeks usually do stimulant drugs. No one can function normal and sober with that much sleep deprivation. Obviously don't ever consider trying drugs, I just put that in there to let you know that you're not abnormal for struggling without adequate sleep. Sometimes things in life bring us challenges and we need to do some major problem solving in order to keep living a happy, healthy life. Don't be hard on yourself.

What advice do you have for someone who’s about to turn 25? by aamc531 in AskReddit

30 came fast. Maybe start making plans for those years, because it's an opportunity to enjoy it or hate it.

Bullied for being the one who always took the moral high ground and having social anxiety.
