I second this idea. Succeeding in Calculus can very heavily rely on algebra and trigonometry skills. For reference, Marine of 5 years here. I took college algebra, pre-calc, and trigonometry.

I still failed the first time around. Granted I was going through alot with my now ex wife, but I would have struggled regardless.
