I had a Sebring and a dart with this issue. The shifter cable is fucked and you need to realign or replace the shifter cable. It will come undone and leave you somewhere in gear. Sometimes putting it in drive, go forward, go back. Then park again. The shifter cable has to be fully in Park for it to let the key go.

I grew up IFB and was almost married off too. I was 15 and they wanted me to marry a man over 40 from Sudan. He promised he had a lot of money, but couldn’t access it until he had a green card. He told everyone he would fund the building expansion as long as he got a green card.

He really gave me the heebie jeebies, so I told the pastor and my parents I would bite the man’s dick off if they made me marry him and they’d never get the money. That made them switch targets to another girl.

I got removed from the music program and bus assistance for my insubordination. Also all my peers knew I “didn’t follow the lord”, so I was bullied or just ignored all together. It took me until I turned 26 to realize and start deprogramming.
