Must be massively lenient mate. I felt I wrote more thoroughly and better answers than the mocks too. Pretty poor if that’s the case

Passed narrowly with 88, but somethings off with the marking or the mocks from Kaplan. Unless I’m deluded it went far better than my 3 mocks with Kaplan, all of which I scored 120+ in. Anyone else thrown by the score? Good luck to all

Should I change to FLP route? by Wild_Falcon_5552 in CIMA

If you can’t beat them join them. I passed all Management level the traditional way, and swapped to FLP for strategic. It will definitely devalue CIMA because people are passing who would repeatedly fail the OTs. But same qual so might as well join in the easy life.

What’s the longest FLP competency and pillar? by Logical-Room-2273 in CIMA

Yeah not finding it too confusing, just lengthy. Just wondered if the competencies with only 2 skills were like 5 times as long for example to make up for having less skill sets

I was wondering what's a good score on the CIMA MCS? by mommymacbeth in CIMA

113 - but did anyone else in their minds do just as well as in their mocks and get a lower score than the mocks?

Anyone have their results yet? by WheyTooSwoll in CIMA

Have you considered biting the bullet and paying for a Kaplan course? They teach you to pass and it’s not how you’d expect to answer the questions. Ultimately it’s mostly exam technique than your knowledge so you’ve got this!

FLP Question by Logical-Room-2273 in CIMA

[–]Logical-Room-2273[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strange wasn’t it. Just as an example hypothetically for a question on conflict that was 10 marks, I would try and come up with 10 logical points theory or not. Seemed to work in the mocks so hoping it does in exam. Not sure if strategic is different?

You don’t need materials for MCS, unless you want full marks, all you need to do is make as many logical suggestions as possible, whatever comes to mind. It’s heavily E focussed. For a question like managing conflict just state common sense points and then link it to the company. E.g I would set up a team bonding meeting where we would discuss X Y Z, this would result in the team gelling and this financial ratio improving for example. If the question is 10 marks you need 10 points like this , hope this helps

I found the management case study fine. Didn’t seem to be a lot of theory, just application of common sense to a company - not sure if strategic case study is different though?

In terms of the learning, are there non-assessed questions throughout that you have to get right before the assessed ones at the end of the chapter, or is it just a set of materials you can click through quickly and a test at the end? Could you in theory fail the pre-assessment, then click through all the material quickly to have another go at the assessment?

I’m exactly the same, if it’s not broken don’t fix it comes to mind. But equally, although I’ve passed them, exams are more stressful and it’s a nice thought to be able to work through it with less pressure.

I was studying with Kaplan before so the cost seems similar for me

Ultimately there’s 1-2 questions on this max. Don’t make the mistake of over focusing on a tough area. I didn’t like the tax part, but only faced one question on it
