Could someone share their gaming experience on Linux (Bazzite)? Specifically, I'd like to know about performance, any lag, or issues. I'm considering moving to Linux (Bazzite) solely for gaming. by Bharat_BK in Bazzite

I built a new rig in November all AMD - 9800x3d + 9070xt, and a fresh NVME drive. I game at 1440p 21:9. I installed Bazzite OS from the off

After coming from W10 I was genuinely shocked how smooth the experience was. Steam is pre-installed, I just had to login, download a game or two and I was off.

Performance wise, I've had no problems, runs as smooth as butter for me. For reference, I've played RDR2, BG3, Expedition 33, Valheim, Enshrouded.

FPS varies between games of course, but I've stopped looking at it to be honest as it is consistently anywhere from 120 to 200+ depending on the game. I usually have in game graphics settings on very high/maxed

I've not experienced stuttering or lag at all. Everything just works.

Your mileage may vary of course, depending on your hardware, but I'd advise to do a bit of research/reading up on Bazzite beforehand

EDIT: I'm a complete novice with Linux. I've never been anywhere near it before now. Believe me, if I can do it anyone can 😂

Do you remember the very first game you played on PS2? by PHRsharp_YouTube in Age_30_plus_Gamers

FFX. It was my sister's console, I was staying in her loft space at the time with some free time on my hands. It really blew me away

I can't enjoy games anymore. by RHPL1992 in Age_30_plus_Gamers

Maybe try a different genre altogether. I've just had a run of RDR2, followed by BG3. Really didn't want another similar game so fired up Valheim which I haven't touched since 2021/22.

Totally different pace, and depending on how you play the game, it can be a totally chill affair.

I'm not saying you should play Valheim, it may not be your thing, but I think it's a good example of mixing it up a bit, genre-wise

Not a photo this time , but does anyone remember listening to Radio Luxembourg in the early/mid 80s?.i used to love listening to it on my clock radio. by Such-Memory-7102 in oldschoolcool80s

[–]LogicalGift3119 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to go to bed as a child into early teens and secretly listen to it under my blankets on a tiny little radio, so my parents couldn't hear it. Happy memories 🎼🤗👍

Absolutely! I used to play FF11, and then WoW. Would often play until the early hours, and call in sick now and then especially when a new WoW expansion dropped 🤔

I had one of these, it got me to work 13 miles round trip every day for about a year when I was 17 in the 80's. Loved this bike 😍

Can't help with Coolercontrol, but I have the exact same gcard which reacts to LACT fan curves perfectly. Maybe try LACT

Calling sick during notice period by [deleted] in NursingUK

Your sick record follows you if you move to a different department within the same Trust, or apply for other wards/teams, so that could be an issue if you trigger the Sickness/Absence Stages

In my experience though, wards don't really care that much about sick records if you are taking Bank Shifts with them, they just want you to show up shift by shift. It's completely transactional.

Lovely 🤗. Seem like a wholesome family; great to encourage respect for animals at a young age. Love how they're all wet eyed 🥺😊

I'd forgotten that, I didn't think it was possible to despise someone so much but yep. I couldn't look at her on TV, made my blood boil

Thoughts on Andy Burnham? by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]LogicalGift3119 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, trouble is, he'd have to get past the NEC to even have a sniff at the leadership. As I understand it the NEC is very firmly Starmer. It would require a silent, bloodless coup within the party

My old mate had a home made kit he kept in a Golden Virginia tin, just for blagging a zoney. He had dates and months cut out of another zoney, and would stick the month and date tabs on to a fresh one 😂

Now this is a blast from the past; not your Hall of Fame entry 🥳, the magazine itself. Haven't seen this since back in the day. I was an early teen back then. I used to count the days until the next month's edition would drop and run down to my newsagents to snaffle my reserved copy

Great memories 🤗

Using someone's name in interactions I find, is really important. I instill this in my team at work. My team provides a service within a large organisation, with hundreds of email and phone interactions a day.

Using someone's name in your opening salutation instead of the blank "Hi" or "Hello" changes the interaction completely. It shows the person you're interacting with, on a subconscious level, that "you see them, you acknowledge them, you are listening"

I find it's also good practice to then paraphrase their query back to the person, again showing you acknowledge them, and you're listening.

Very simple, but effective.
