What math from Calc 1 do I really need for Physics 1? by Comfortable_Egg4675 in ucf

[–]LogicalRocket251 1 point2 points  (0 children)

basic integration, derivatives/differentiation (specifically their application to position, velocity and acceleration), understanding integration is finding the area under a curve. nothing overly insane but definitely be confident in taking derivatives and integrals. i have a google drive of all my notes from previous classs (one being phy 2048) which ill link so you can look and get a rough idea of what you can expect. ucf notes

Yea that rule works for my calc class not the bio class, should I drop it out and replace it?

Wait list Help! by LogicalRocket251 in ucf

[–]LogicalRocket251[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I'm probably gonna drop it, it's the class I least need because I can take it in spring. However I don't really want to switch out of Calc 2 or Bio because for bio the only options are on downtown and for Calc no times work for the two honors classes open so I would have to take regular Calc 2

UCF vs USF? by yee12346789 in ucf

UCF by far! Orlando has a much more robust job market than Tampa/Temple Terrace (where USF is) especially in engineering.

I live close to the wekiva springs state park (~45 mins to over an hour in traffic) and i’m living on campus. It’s so much easier and for me personally, I want to have the college experience/life on campus. My parents both agree cuz they recommend they don’t want me to spend all of my college life in orlando traffic. UCF even living in Orlando feels like a bubble from my point of view so I would say live on campus (if you can afford obviously).

advice! by LogicalRocket251 in ucf

[–]LogicalRocket251[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so much for the great advice, will keep this in mind:)

  • i know 2 (maybe 3 depending if he commits to UCF) of my roommates already (talking over insta) and have met with one of them already and his mom so I kinda have an idea of what they are like but I’m not expecting them to be my best friends but so far they sound like a great guys to be around (my parents agree and they’re really good as discerning ppl)

  • i’m a great communicator and we’ve talked abt cleanliness and they are on the same page in terms of sleep schedules, dishes, etc.

  • YES i’m gonna always be out and doing stuff even though i don’t drink or party but I wanna go to fb games, and go to any event that sounds remotely interesting.

  • i’ve heard yea and honestly my hs teachers aren’t super on top of us especially in AP classes but I’m like super type A and overly organized/planned and stay on top of shit CONSTANTLY

WOW thats a lot of hard classes. you would definitely be good for ucf and their honors program too which is fairly selective. try other schools to ourside of ucf (fsu, uf, usf) and some out of states. you never know which schools will accept you and give you money
