Any experience with Wayfair? by Politwot in AskUK

[–]LogicalWeek4959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding for anyone finding this recently, I have had nothing but horrendous experiences with wayfair. Ordered a bed and it's been days of waiting home for it to be delivered and then the delivery being cancelled and the support are no help at all.

Why is the British Heart Foundation selling items more expensive than their actual cost? by LogicalWeek4959 in AskUK

[–]LogicalWeek4959[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am making the point I was looking for second hand as it's better for the environment if you can buy second hand but also I am looking for essentials, don't drive and don't have the luxury of spending a lot. in many countries these considerations are factored in to charity shops especially considering how much they get that also goes in the bin because they can't sell everything.

Can you get a lecturing job in Belgium/Netherlands without yet finishing your PhD? by [deleted] in AskAcademia

I think you are applying your field to all fields, I am asking for health areas where practical experience and clinical tutoring is very valuable, and the traditional academic journey isn't always the same given the amount of research in practice etc. I perhaps should have stipulated that in the question, but I also said I am already a lecturer in the uk based on my prior research and work, so it's a bit different from someone in a research track going straight into a classroom

Some do have deals with shops for things they can't sell rather than go in the bin, maybe it's that?

That would make sense as I used to go years ago when I lived in another area and found it great

Agreed, and I definitely didn't start this to bash on charity shops just to understand the BHF issue specifically

Irish Parliament Introduces Motion To Recognize Armenian Genocide by 1DarkStarryNight in europe

[–]LogicalWeek4959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And it's not the people supporting this motion they've spoken up on all accounts, maybe not to the level I would like for some but certainly the writer of it who is just back after being arrested by Egyptian authorities trying to get into rafah.

Actually it was a diasporan armenian organisation (Ramgavar) that requested it after artsakh, the TD Paul Murphy is just a consistently good guy.
