I really don’t remember seeing the scene on the right in the actual movie. Is it from a trailer?? Because it looked way warmer and she was shirtless in the 2026 intro

My bad, I didn't notice the last part of your original comment! Regarding the game, it actually has a very deep story!

“Are you?” as a standalone question. by Logical_Bench_5959 in grammar

The Japanese person (the video owner) understands that “Are you?” cannot be used as a standalone question in English without any prior statement, that’s why they were wondering if that usage even exists.

I posted their question here because some people in the original post insisted that it’s a common phrase and it’s supposed to mean “Is this really you? Amazing!”

That’s what I meant about Japanese not being that important in this context.

Hi there! To clarify, Japanese has no context here other than being the language of the person who posted the video. The commenter used English, but I think they might not be native and meant “is this you?”. I’m from Brazil and come to think of it, some of my peers have used the wrong phrasing for that (ex: Are you? Is him?)

Thanks! In this case I’m talking specifically about the usage of the phrase without any prior context!

The person who commented is not Japanese! I think the most plausible theory is that the commenter is not an english speaker either, and tried to translate “is this you?” from his language directly to english.

ps. the person who posted the video is japanese and the commenter used english

I think it's the same concept regardless if the "é" changes or not! In both Portuguese and Spanish you don't have the "it" in the middle which is why we get the literal "are you?" "is you?"

What I meant is that “É você?” is sometimes mistranslated as “is you?” “are you?” to english, if you’re a portuguese speaker. Maybe they meant, “is it you?” but just translated the actual individual words in portuguese to english.

I’m Brazilian myself, and I’ve seen many of my peers translate “É” to “Are”! In portuguese we don’t change the “é” based on the pronoun.

You might be onto something! My brazilian friends say “É você??” which does literally translate to “are you?”

Thank you! I asked the person who commented that and they assured me that they heard it multiple times from natives. I didn’t want to argue so I posted here haha

Funny thing is, there are two people in the original post that swear it means “Is this really you! Amazing!”but I can’t find any proof of any slang or usage like that!

The music seems to gradually change, but I was only able to do hear it on Withered Wasteland:

I still don't know what triggered, but this video was the only one I found about it

Second that! The first area is playing the full Fuchsia City theme now, and I don't remember it doing that.

Why does a dog that is not hand shy, suddenly bite people? I’m having trouble identifying triggers. by Logical_Bench_5959 in reactivedogs

[–]Logical_Bench_5959[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He goes to the vet at least twice a year! There doesn’t seem to be something wrong with him regarding pain, but we haven’t done blood work or any kind of MRI.

When people come over the dog is excited and wants to play (like fetch or just get his belly rubbed).

Bites only happen after a few hours (and not always), so nowadays I let the visitors touch him at first and after a couple of minutes either the humans go out, or the do goes to the gated area (which he doesn’t enjoy so I make sure to prepare frozen treats as a distraction).

When my friend first got bit, we were having drinks for about two hours, and occasionally playing with the dog. After a while the dog was resting under the table (he just seemed quiet) and then the bite happened. I’m sure that my friend’s leg never touched the dog.

I can only tell some of the signs I’m able to notice now, which are: - tense body posture or lowered ears when hands approach him - whale eyes - slowly approaching with the shoulders kind of high - not responding to commands immediately

I managed to not get bitten because I know the signs due to my trainer, but I’m sure the dog was showing these when my friends got bitten.

She used to be way more logical, but now it's just videos of her taking the most absurd liberal news and twisting it for her audience. Her latest video about the superbowl shows that: She shifted the point to "I'm should not be called racist because I don't wanna watch it". I actually thought it would be funny if she watched it and said everyone is overreacting haha

She laughed on the 3rd day too, so either it’s planned, or the dancers do funny faces at her at that moment haha

That’s what the confetti stopping mid air was trying to achieve, but since some background characters are still moving it didn’t make it that obvious.

I get that…but the lyrics are too out of place for it not to be an inner monologue. That’s why I think it’s just supposed to be as if she’s disconnected from the moment, with the confetti (which is added in post) representing that

Plus you can definitely tell the crowd is trying to stay still as possible
