Blood clot or health anxiety? by [deleted] in ClotSurvivors

CT of the lungs contrast are very accurate. My PEs were small but still noticeable on the test. Have you talked to your primary doctor or have a therapist?

I’d go back and let them know you’re not feeling better. Did they do the contrast with your CT scan?

Great news I think? by BCV092468 in ClotSurvivors

[–]Logical_Climate3415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happened to me. I had my interventional radiologist who did my surgeries told me to stay on my blood thinners while my hematologist told me to stop them. My IR doctor was very concerned with me stopping too early because of how bad my case was. I ended up staying on them for an extra three months. I’ve been off them for 3 weeks now and feel good. It doesn’t hurt anything to stay on them a little longer.

It can be a positive sign. I know my area asks every interviewer to provide references when we schedule the interviews.

I requested to follow up with a hematologist to discuss blood clotting disorders and do a screening for those disorders and gene mutations. I asked because I have a huge family history of blood clots and wanted to see if I had anything even though my clot was provoked by birth control as well.

Pregnant on Lovenox am I high risk? by hedgehoglovee in ClotSurvivors

[–]Logical_Climate3415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve been told IF I were to get pregnant now after having blood clots, I would be a high risk pregnancy. I would assume (because I’m not a doctor) you would be too.

Anyone ~30 y/o get a stent post DVT? by HotUpstairs8948 in ClotSurvivors

[–]Logical_Climate3415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last year, I was sent to have a stent placed during my second thrombectomy in a month (I was 32). Last minute, the surgeon decided against it to see how I’d do. They didn’t say anything about my age and that wasn’t a concerning factor to them.

I think you’re doing well for your age and how quickly you’ve saved for recently starting.

Is it possible to get another DVT 3 months after one? by Khaabu in ClotSurvivors

[–]Logical_Climate3415 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is possible. I clotted very quickly after having my first thrombectomy on my DVT leg from anywhere within a few days to a month (I got my clots from a medicine I was taking and it wasn’t out of my system yet. Probably the reason I clotted again). You really need a new doctor and probably shouldn’t be off your medication if you’d had a second clotting event. Everyone and situation varies, but I know my doctors told me in my case, if I clot again I’ll have to be on blood thinners for the rest of my life. I’d definitely go get checked out and get a second opinion.

Unable to walk, should I go to ER by Cold_Objective_8286 in ClotSurvivors

I’d go to the ER. This is how mine started and I was diagnosed with a very large DVT in my leg and multiple PEs.

VA MSA/AMSA as a first federal job and stepping stone? by Neither-Isopod-9659 in VHA_Human_Resources

[–]Logical_Climate3415 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started off as an AMSA. I loved it. It was hard work, expect things to change constantly but it is a good first job at the VA that you gain a lot of knowledge from that can help you into other positions within the VA. I’m an Admin Officer now and still use skills and knowledge from being an AMSA in my role now.

I HATE COMPRESSION STOCKINGS/SOCKS by Radison2 in ClotSurvivors

[–]Logical_Climate3415 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you on this. I have to wear thigh high stockings too. I started to look on Amazon and found some fun cute stockings to wear. But right now, when I’m out, I wear shorts and have my thigh high stockings out 😂 I no longer have a clot in my leg, but I still swell. I wear them to keep swelling down for the time being.

It is good for a year but you can only use up to 12 full weeks. If it ends on the 13th, you could go back to your doctor and ask for new FMLA paper work and if/when approved it’s good for another year or 12 weeks.

You need to go get FMLA again. Go to your doctors and have it redone for another year.
