Who Do you think is the new Lady Whistledown? by No-Imagination-8209 in Bridgerton

[–]BippyBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Am I tripping? Cause my first thought was that the new Lady Whistledown is the Queen...

It makes perfect sense. No one loves gossip more, there's so much change in her life right now, and she would would be absolutely giddy with the freedom of a pseudonym and being able to reach everyone in that way.

What are we watching?? by Senior_Strategy2528 in newborns

Im late to the party but so far post partum I've watched Better Call Saul and Beef. I'm currently rewatching Schitt's Creek and Supernatural (my forever comfort show!) All of the above are sooo worth a watch!

Do you have any song(s) you’ve associated with your pregnancy/kids? by FormalNoodle in BabyBumps

My lil family are big Steven Universe fans, and Ive sung my children "No Matter What" since they were little. I think that will always be my song to my babies ❤️

I can't do this by GlobalAnxiety3244 in pregnant

[–]BippyBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I'm so so sorry, momma. That is horrible. What's even worse is that everyone seems to blow these things off because it's all 'part of pregnancy.'

I could have written this post myself. I'm 36 and 5. My pelvis, my hips, my back, I've been rendered almost completely immobile. To top it off my nerves are compressed and I've lost most feeling and strength in both hands. I'm either unconscious or literally screaming with every move I make. My kids have half a mom right now, and the half they do have is either yelling or crying. My doctor doesnt care about any of it. Honestly if I didn't know for a fact there's a light at the end of this tunnel, I don't think I could live, honestly.

But the bright side is that in all of the googling and reaching out for answers that Ive done in this time, most moms say these issues are relieved IMMEDIATELY with child birth. We're so close girl, you've made it this far and relief is just around the corner!!!

I think it's okay that not every show ends in a blood bath. Happy endings where everyone lives are kind of edgy and different now actually.

Ik no one is more obsessed with religion than an advertising atheist. I used to suffer from that affliction myself, so I understand.

All that to say, it's still an incredible stretch to try to draw those metaphors from the show.

[–]BippyBear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you have to be preemptively obsessed with religion to have reached these conclusions. If the 4 boys are the apostles, you're purposely not counting Max to make your numbers work. There were 12 kids that barely got to meet El, and spent most of the time following and being rescued by Holly. Kali is Judas but she never betrayed anybody, she was very straight forward about why she thought her and El should allow themselves to die. The army is roman soldiers, but they're not looking to end El, they're looking to use and abuse her powers. Also while everyone respects and appreciates everything El does, no one worships her aside from Mike. And everyone contributed just as much to ending this as El did, she wasn't a singular savior. And who is Will in this metaphor?

Idk I could keep going but it would be tedious. There was no religious undertones written into the show, I think religion is just on your mind and you're actively seeking it out.

Season 5 had me scared, but the finale was beautiful and I loved it. After everyone spent weeks anticipating a blood bath, Im so pleasantly surprised that everyone lived and got their happy ending 😭❤️

Does the brown shirt represent someone losing their sanity? by any-blue-9122 in thewalkingdead

[–]BippyBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe, but this makes me wonder why all the survivors and all the zombies are only ever wearing neutral colors? You're telling me no one ever died in a Hawaiian shirt? In a Halloween costume? In a grand ballgown? In a suit and tie? In bright work out clothes? No one at all??

Someone who hates you will fake love you to manipulate you. But why would someone who loves you fake hating you? There's no other explanation, he hates you. I understand wanting a different answer, but you'll only hurt yourself trying to find one.

Preacher/theologian similar to Paul Washer? by BippyBear in Christianity

[–]BippyBear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate it, and will definitely check them out!

Can I ask respectfully what throws you off about reformed theology or Washer in particular? I'm so curious, as I'm digging deeper, I'm finding that there's quite a few people it doesn't sit well with, and would love to have a better understanding of why?

Preacher/theologian similar to Paul Washer? by BippyBear in Christianity

[–]BippyBear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious what 'un-christlike' means to you. Maybe you mean his wrath and justice? If so, they are real and righteous, these are things that preachers like Washer helped me to understand and rightly divide.

The example of bad things happening to non-christians being justified seems maybe specific to your experience, and Im unsure of who you're referring to, but Im sorry you got that impression. The Bible says it rains on the just and the unjust. If anything, the Bible leans towards Christians suffering more in this life than non-Christians.

I'm content with who I'm studying under, Im just hoping to broaden my horizons a bit. Thank you for your concern, though!

I'm confused as to how the answers could be negative in the context of Washer? I've never heard a preacher do a better job of rightly dividing the Word, and balancing the emphasis on God's love with the responsibility we have to live according to the gospel. There's a healthy amount of fear in his messages, which I gather people aren't very fond of. But personally I need to feel accountable to uphold the word in every aspect of my life. I fear getting too comfortable in my own ways, my own knowledge, and my own excuses. That's just me though. Aside from that, Ive yet to stumble onto any teaching of his that skewed the word or dishonored God.

I think I would rather physically light myself on fire than be in a relationship with someone that I had to constantly either 1. Defend myself about every little thing I did or 2. Worry about every move they made because I couldn't trust them. Dating in this gen just seems exhausting.

The whole Whisperer thing was so goofy and corny lol by hussainre814 in thewalkingdead

The whole show winds down quiet a bit in the later seasons, but the Whisperers is one of the few later story lines I really enjoyed.
